Went for dinner on a Saturday night -- so we missed the happy hour, which has 1/2 priced apps and salads as well as $4 beer! There seem to be lots locals at the bar and tables. There are three TV's that had sporting events on. A couple of tall tables with chairs. Service was great. Food was good. Nice... More

This was not the first restaurant we'd chosen to have dinner - but when the restaurant down the street became inaccessible (oh, gee, they just didn't have time to clear the snow from the wheelchair ramp!!) we said 'bye bye' and made our way down the street. SO glad we did!!! Fat Cat looked interesting, so we went in. First... More

The fat cat bar and Grill is located next to one of my favorite thrift stores and we love the area outside where we can sit with the dogs, the staff is friendly and the food is hearty. It was the perfect place to fuel up after a day on the lake.

Stopped in on a drive around Lake Tahoe with my daughter. Had wings and burgers. Wings were just okay (expensive, I thought, for 6 average size wings, which I think were like $12). Hamburger was ordered medium, but delivered well-done. Seems that's what always happens when you order a burger, so not sure why they ask. But the texture and... More

We eat here quite often and it is consistently good. I usually order the Ahi Tower (an appetizer) for lunch. Food is very good quality and is consistent. Really great service today.

Good local place for lunch - rustic – quant – reasonable pricing (Not a chain). Waitress – Rashel – was very friendly and accommodating (gave us separate checks). Had the Brie & Fig Grilled Cheese – different – very tasty and unusual, but good! Appeared to be full of local folks, which is always a good sign to me for... More

After having the "City Kat"(one of the best cosmopolitans I ever had) the night before at the bar, I wanted to return for another with dinner the next night. The place was packed on a holiday evening, but I was so impressed how the staff ran around helping each other out to serve their customers as quickly as possible. The... More

We stopped at Fat Cat after a hard day of skiing at Squaw Valley, and it was very satisfying. The food was great, and there were lots of creative (and tasty) options on the menu. Example: the mac and cheese burger, which as the name implies consists of mac and cheese on a hamburger. Why did no one think of... More

We were back in town for the week and since Fat Cat is under new ownership, we decided to check it out. We were not disappointed. The wine list was impressive as well as the beer list. We started with the lettuce wraps and ahi tower, both were delicious and very fresh. We then got the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich... More

Busy downtown Tahoe City bar and grill. Food delicious in a lively, energetic atmosphere. Service was a bit off the last time we visited but usually very good hence the 4 stars. Great happy hour offerings also.
