For a group with a young family, it was a little tricky but the appetizers helped keep the little ones calm. We enjoyed the food so much! We recimmendthe fried prawns, chicken satay combo, deep fried vegetables, choo Chee prawns, Thai egg rolls, fried banana...dessert and sticky rice with mango dessert. A little slow on the service but each bite was delightful.More

We just flew into to San Francisco airport from Nashville today, hungry. We checked out TripAdvisor for recommendations, and we're glad we checked out Thai Satay since it was highly recommended. I had the fried brown rice w/prawns, and I was surprised the number of...large prawns for a great price. My husband and daughter shared the yellow curry veg. and they loved it. Servings are very generous. Everything tasted so fresh and delicious. Our server, Looknam, was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.More

We ordered angels wings as an appetizer. I ordered the pumpkin tofu curry with brown rice and my friend ordered some type of minced pork dish. I don’t eat pork but he said it was really good. The angel wings and the pumpkin tofu dishes...were the best I’ve tasted in most Thai restaurants. The mango sticky rice as the dessert was excellent as well. I just didn’t care for the sub par customer service. The old waitress wasn’t that friendly and I usually receive good service at Thai restaurants.More

Had dinner at Thai Satay with a business colleague and found the food to be very good and the casual service friendly. The restaurant menu is exactly what one would expect at a good Thai place. We went with classics; had satay and rolls for...appetizers and then pad thai and a curry for main. The food was really good. The atmosphere is a bit homey and the service matches; it is friendly and helpful. Would be happy to eat there again.More

Really great food here. Had an appetizer satay platter which was pretty good, but their chicken Penang Curry was very very good. Really nice aromas and flavor. Very impressed. Place doesn’t look authentically Thai, more like an upscale diner (and lighting in here is really...bright) but very good authentic Thai food. Highly recommend, and reasonably priced. Also serve Singha beer which was a bonus!More

The gentleman from the hotel recommended this restaurant for dinner so we’d come. The food was good we ordered appetizers of crab Rangoon, shrimp rolls and a beef satay. For the main food it was vegetable fried rice, spicy chicken and beef.

Staying in town for a couple of days and went looking for a nice place for dinner the first night. Lots of interesting looking places on Grand Ave, but settled on this place as I hadn't had Thai for a while and it looked like...people were enjoying themselves. I wasn't disappointed, the food was good as was the service. Prices were pretty good for San Francisco. My only concern was the wine - a pretty ordinary local Chardonnay which wasn't put in an ice bucket. By the time the bottle was half empty, it was getting warm and eventually was undrinkable. Overall enjoyable, and good value experience though.More

In SF for one night while in transit. Saw the lights on and wandered in. Look past the old style decor and focus on the food. Delicious. Lots to choose from and portions are generous.

Thai Satay is excellent. I love the Tom Kai soup and Patsi Yu (sp?). The staff and owner, Boon, are so accommodating.

My husband I took a chance one night while in town and had a deliciously fresh cooked dinner. The staff was friendly and the food was so yummy. We will come back again!
