We ate here a few minutes ago, we ordered a combination platter with mozzarella stocks, union rings, jalapeno poppers and zucchini. Apparently they were out of zucchini so we got French fries instead. No warning or excuses. Just "we don't have zucchini so you got fries". After that we ordered burritos, disgusting. It was one wet mush inside, no flavor,... More

While touring Solvang recently. We (wife and myself) have been there before some time ago. We were amazed at how much the town has grown. Some of the locals said to try the Viking Garden as the food is good and the prices in line. This restaurant has a buffet and after looking at what was offered on the buffet... More

We stopped in for a late (in Solving) dinner. There were hardly any other diners so I was worried, but the food was very good. We had the sausage sampler and green pea soup and both were very good. They have a nice selection of beer and at a reasonable cost. We had a pitcher of local ale...very good. I... More

Solvang is a Danish village and as expected, they have danish food. In general, Scandinavian food is kinds of bland and tends to have a lot of sauces to aid in the flavor. I ordered the hunter's plate, which had a sampling of sausages, mashed potatoes, and shredded sweet/sour cabbage kraut of sorts. The cabbage was the best part and... More

They do a great job here with your common meal dishes. Breakfast, lunch or dinner, you can find all the common american dishes along with many German/Danish type dishes (lots of sausage!). Good value and nice people to serve you. Very consistent.

Excellent wine AND beer. We did a tasting of both and enjoyed everything. The employee that did our tasting was extremely knowledgeable and great to talk with. The only bad thing I have to say, they left the “Closed” sign on the door for an hour after opening. We kept coming back and it wasn’t until the third time that... More

We found this place as we were walking from the bus to the main part of town and we're thrilled. The potato pancakes were to die for and the pigs in blanket were too. I could see how location might hinder this business a bit being off main drag but worth looking for if you want good, fresh food.

Actually there is a homage to the first viking king in this restaurant and I would recommend looking up some history of the Danish people before visiting Solvang. This restaurant had great food, I felt it was very German because it seemed like food my grandma made that I felt was Germanish but they also serve a bit of everything.... More

Location: 4/5 stars. Located on the main street, the restaurant was very accessible. Unfortunately, parking is not very good. They do not have their own parking lot. Promptness: 5/5 stars. My GF and I went there on a Sunday morning during the July 4th holiday. Within 10 minutes, we were seated! Within 15 minutes, we ordered and received our food.... More

Anything viking appeals to me. Actually the food is not made for vikings, who ate raw. It is good American food and we liked it. Parking is easy across the street.
