The bakery goods are ok. The coffee is decent and the staff are kind. The butter cookies are the most decent in flavors. Everything else looks good but the taste is disappointing

When visiting a tourist oriented town like Solvang, it's nice to eat at a place that id frequented by local residents. This is that the of place. Great baked goods - always fresh. The friendly staff greets visitors and local residents with a smile.

I really loved the bread!!!! It was one with almond, I don’t remember the name. They can improve in the coffee taste.

There's plenty of inside and outside seating here at this quaint bakery. I had a very fresh and delicious half-sandwich and salad combo. The turkey sandwich was fresh, on really good white bread, and a generous portion of turkey. I had the greek salad, which...More

Solvang is a cute little place but has a touch of "uncanny valley" it is not quite like Denmark as I remember the few times I have been there. But nearly. We were wandering around actually admiring how consistent the town planning was. Not sure...More

Having had the best balls ever in Copenhagen, I figured I would give this bakery a go. Authentic and very tasty, as good as the ones we had across the pond. Worthwhile.

Birkholm’s cherry danish was the best I’ve ever had! Light, flaky pastry, delicious filling that had just the right amount of flavour and was not too sweet. The coffee was also good. Well worth a visit!

I didn't shop here, but my sister did. So I was able to enjoy the super, super buttery Danish. Wow! And a wonderful selection.

Solvang is a very dog-friendly town. I saw dogs on leash in patio areas of many restaurants. I'm sure there would be no problem if you have well behaved dogs.

Description
OUR STORY Birkholm's Bakery was founded by Carl "Cookie" Sr. and Charlotte Birkholm in 1950. Birkholm's has been family owned, passed from generation to generation for over 65 years. In 1980, Carl Jr. and Elizabeth Birkholm stepped in to carry on the tradition of baking in Solvang. Carl continues to use the original Danish recipes that "Cookie" brought over from Denmark. In 2011, our son Carl "Thomas" approached us wanting to learn and continue the business like his Grandfather "FarFar" and Father had done before him. Thomas is the 3rd generation of bakers in Solvang and with the Family, he is looking forward to a new beginning. Velkommen Til Solvang
