Cruising done 101 going from beach to beach creates a mighty good appetite. I was browsing TripAdvisor for good eats and came across the Hide a Way Cafe! Great place to stop! It is the perfect eclectic diner we try to find on our trips. The place was packed but service was swift. The coffee was excellent and food was... More

When out and about with my mom-n-law we frequently stop here for a late breakfast or lunch. Always friendly and love their breakfast. The avocado salad is excellent too. The two ladies that run the place are super nice.

If you are after a locals spot with an intimate setting and great food this is the cafe for you. The seasoned staff are welcoming and charming. Plus it's the best value in Solana Beach!

We had a fine breakfast at this little local spot - the kind where the waitress knows the regulars will be having "the usual." It's also a place where you don't have to spend at least $10 to get a couple of eggs and toast. We particularly enjoyed the kaleidoscope plate and the cinnamon bun - so big we enjoyed... More

If you are looking for a no frills delicious breakfast or lunch in Solana Beach, then this is the place. So small, it feels a little claustrophobic inside, but the outdoor seating worked for us. I enjoyed the avocado omelet and my husband had a veggie sandwich. The portions were hefty and the food was fantastic. Also, their lemonade was... More

Great little "hole in the wall" find near Fletcher Cove. Sat outside on the crates and enjoyed the cool morning breezes. The sketchy, bohemian style only added to the local feel and flavor Quick, friendly service. Loved the spices in the potato pancakes and delicious breakfast. Great way to start the day!

We choose this cafe for breakfast because of the great reviews. I have food sensitivities including to eggs, I choose to order corned beef hash which comes with eggs. I explained my issue and requested to substitute cottage cheese for the egg, I was told no substitutes. I still took the meal and gave egg to others in my party.... More

We discovered the Hide A Way Café on Yelp and decided to go there for our final breakfast in California. It's tiny, hidden away in a converted garage, and fantastic. The ladies who work there have worked together for 25 plus years and are committed to a great breakfast experience. Our food was hot, fresh and delicious. You'll have to... More

A hole in the wall with great cinnamon rolls and ample breakfasts. Open limited hours and usually a wait. But a great breakfast that beats most others in the area.

This is definitely a hole on the wall, however, the best local beach atmosphere one can experience. The service is great, the food is fresh and fantastic. You have to try the cinnamon roles that they make fresh every morning. This place is here in Solana Beach for over 30 years, and classic spot to the local. Eat where the... More
