La Bufa is a landmark in Mexico. Sadly, the owner is retiring and closing this restaurant very soon. Over the years it has been a favorite of mine always offering great salsa to go with a great meal, whether lunch or dinner. This visit I settled for the carne asada super burrito. It came with plenty of toppings, sour cream,... More

Great food in a cozy atmosphere on 4th street and D in downtown Santa Rosa. Food is fresh and family run for over 40 years. Try the best Pozole on a cold winter night to warm your soul. My go to dish is the 3 chicken flautas with beans and rice that comes with cheese, guacamole, tomatoes and sour cream.... More

Eh, with all of the other Mexican food choices in the area, this was not a good one. I don't like giving bad reviews, but the food is so so.

La Budapest has been there for years, but it's not really very good and it's not very cheap. We never go there anymore and haven't for years. If you like Mexican, there are better choices!

This is a family owned business and they take pride in their food and service. You can expect classic Mexican dishes. The taco salad and super burrito are always delicious.

Started going to La Bufa over 35 years ago. This is an "old school" Mexican Restaurant, for most items the recipe has not been updated in any way, so this is like a trip back in time. The guacamole is one thing that has changed, 15 years ago it was laced with radishes, but no more. As it sits it... More

This is a gem of a restaurant that is well worth going to. The atmosphere is very friendly and customer oriented. They really care about you as a customer and are extremely friendly. The food itself was made with the freshest ingredients. The guacamole was wonderful and the chips were very tasty. I had a cheese enchilada with beans and... More

downtown Santa Rosa has many places to sit and eat...but this one is not worth it. The food was bland and the hot sauce poured on top didnt make any improvement. Had the lunch special of chili relleno, a little soggy, and the beans were bland.

We drove up to Santa Rosa from the Peninsula and were going to another restaurant but stumbled in here instead. Very pleasant surprise. The server greeted us immediately with a friendly smile. It had a definite family owned charm. Our orders were taken promptly and the food was back to us very quickly. The Taco Salad was fresh and tasty.... More

We have been coming to La Bufa for over 30 years. It is consistent and fresh and clean and friendly. It feels like a favorite pair of shoes...or something. There beans and salsa taste the same to me today as they did in the 1980s. We love this place.
