Two words, cheesy toast. We were told to come here from the staff at the Sea Shore Hotel (located on the same lot as the restaurant), and it turned out to be our best breakfast in California. The bread is from a local French bakery, and it almost tasted liek a sourdough? Anyway, back to the cheesy toast. Fresh, crunchy... More

I visit LA several times each year and usually have breakfast at Amelia's. The best bet is the breakfast sandwich. Very friendly people.

Amelia's was located next door to our quaint Sea Shore Motel in Santa Monica. After our first morning visit, we were hooked and wished we could take Ameila's coffee shop back to Montana with us. This family run business immediately made you feel at home, as they served up their excellent gourmet breakfast choices or delicious pastries.. they were happy... More

I didn't rate the coffee and couldn't see anything I'd order there - it looked like an Italian run cafe in London that would serve you a cooked breakfast but the place was ok, I noticed that everyone in there was very happy etc while I waited for my espresso- the juice bar on main on the same side walking... Figure out what fabulous coffee you want then order the Breakfast Sandwich--it is so much more and you'll be happy. We added salami and we're oozing gratitude. Dooo it.

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
