I recently had breakfast here and was pleasantly surprises at the great quality and atmosphere. Omelette was awesome and it comes with amazing toast and a small salad. Coffee great too along with fast service. Looked like there were a lot of regulars in there as the servers called them by name.

Tough to give this place a fair rating as I thought it was a little weird and different, but not necessarily in a bad way. The food was good, the service was good and the atmosphere was nice. Not necessarily the best breakfast I had in MdR, but still a solid choice.

Downtown Santa Monica has undergone a renovation and is full of trendy shops and cafes. Le Pain is one of the trendy cafes of which I speak. The menu is simple and delicious with many vegan options. Lattes come in large bowls to warm your hands.  Seems like a Parisian cafe, but with friendly staff and actual breakfast items like... More

I love their selection of breads and their strong coffee. The hearty soups are the way to go as they are served with the fresh bread. I like the communal table seating but you can also have your own.

Breakfast was very pleasant - Greek yogurt, avacado toast, orange juice. Nice service but at $40 for two not the cheapest. Recommend though

I've eaten at several Le Pain Quotidien restaurants, primarily in Santa Monica. It's a favorite with my running group for post-run breakfasts. The coffee is excellent as is the assortment of breads, the omelettes and the Avocado Toast. The service is often s l o w but it's always friendly. At the two locations I frequent, there are outdoor patios... More

Anyone looking for a real coffee or real bread needs to have breakfast or lunch here. Very good service and great food. Waiter engaged well with our kids and service was genuine. Many thanks

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
