Good atmosphere, seaside decor and the ocean just across! The menu offers fish, meat and pasta and vegs. The service is good and plates tasted delicious, prices not really friendly;)

The restaurant was basically almost empty at brunchtime. There were a few tables, maybe 3-4, but the rest of the space was sadly devoid of patronage. Brunch menu was limited to egg dishes and there were also several lobster offerings, but none interesting enough: lobster blt or pasta. The food we ordered was ok. It was not particularly tasty, just... More

Delicious food. Had the fish special and it was perfection. The ceasar salad was tasty too. All of this with a view of the ocean on the beach. My server was terrific too.

The prices looked high at first until you got the food. The portions were generous and the favors and tastes were excellent. I had a fritta with mushrooms and she had the catch of the day which was grilled to perfection. We split a lobster and crab cake appetizer. We finished with a custard and sorbet desert and special Tea.

The restaurant and attached hotel are beautiful. The waitstaff was polite and helpful. The meals are a la carte and a bit pricey - but you get what you pay for...I had a calimari appetizer, ribeye steak and side of asparagus. All were done perfectly. The beer and wine list are extensive. The menu is manageable - they have a... More

The setting for this restaurant is great... lovely view of the beach. Service was good and wine list is terrific. The food however was a major disappointment. My husband's steak was very overlooked, and the pasta with lobster was completely uninspired. We loved our stay at this hotel, and hope to return. But, we will skip this restaurant.

Very disappointed. Went for brunch to celebrate a birthday. Service was good. Ambiance excellent. Food terrible. The pork belly hash had a real weird smell and taste. Presentation was not pretty. It really didn't taste good. It was awful. Catch of the day was swimming in tomato sauce that taste like Campbell Tomato soup. The warm chicken salad was bland.... More

Lovely setting for beach or sunset views. Very polite staff and unhurried service. The food was adequate, albeit expensive for so little flavor. This would be a great place to bring older family members who want a quiet dining room and simple flavors.

We had a great meal at 1 Pico. The Shutters Hotel is very nice, and this restaurant has great views of the beach. Food is good, staff is nice, an overall great experience.

We had a group of five and 2 babies there for lunch. They quickly found a window table for 8 to accommodate the babies. The menu was very complete with very good choices. I had to decide from salads, burgers to lobster sandwiches. It took a while to make this very difficult decision. My lobster sandwich came with a small... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
