Great atmosphere service and margaritas. The food is pretty good but at this point I always order the same thing.

A beautiful mission style architecture greats the grateful dinner for fine Mexican cuisine. Great drinks, service, tasks and decor make for a fiesta.

Very charming and friendly place. I love the tortilla soup. Burrito is just ok. Chips and salsa are really good. Enchilada is average.

A great choice for both those who have enjoyed Mexican food for decades, as well as for first-timers. We brought a couple of friends from France to dinner at El Cholo, and they so enjoyed the atmosphere as well as the excellent meals - the daily special of grilled shrimp was terrific, as was the signature dish, my cheese enchiladas,... Verg good Mexican food! We were able to get seated immediately on a Sunday night. The service was timely with polite people. Portions are very adequate and they have no problem making sure you have chips and salsa. They have been around a long time and you can see why.

The best is #4 combo two cheese enchiladas. The sauce on them is the best. When I crave enchiladas, I go to El Cholos. Nachos are good too.

Went here for a group party. Very welcoming we ordered drinks from the bar ..as all our party was not here yet. I had a nice coconut cocktail..very filling. $12. Friends had various drinks. Get a table outside much nicer. Food average. Alot of cheese. Dessert average. Very nice staff and went to JPs bar after.

My favourite at El Cholo's are the fresh guacamole made at the table, the fajitas and the nachos. Been there quite a few times. It is nicest to sit outside. Their magueritas (LA Lemonades) were also always a passion and super strong. On my last visit, I detected that they had "softened" the mix, so much less strong. Shame! Bring... More

There were 3 of us and we all ordered the #2 combo. It includes their Chile Relleno and a cheese enchilada with rice and beans. Excellent food, excellent service. We have come here several times and will come again.

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
