This is my favourite breakfast/brunch spot in downtown Santa Cruz. Always excellent food and friendly service. It is packed with locals all morning and into the afternoon, with a lively warm atmosphere. Really good value for money. Try the tofu scramble and eggs florentine.

I thought I'd already written about this place and was surprised to see it pop up in my list. I tend to visit for breakfast, so I've had more of that here than anything else, and it's always good. I love their omelettes. They're big, hot, and full of whatever goodness you want. The place does tend to be busy,... More

Atmosphere From what I remember of the décor, it was quite homey. Fake plants and vines trailing about and whatnot. Pretty and comfortable. It's a popular place so there's a lot of people but our party of two was seated right away. Crowd Some of the older patrons were a little strange and kept looking at my friend and I... More

Sometimes waiting for a table is a good thing. They are busy because they are good. Good service, very good food. We were in Santa Cruz for a week and returned for breakfast several times.

My husband and I experienced a very nice lunch here on our last day in Santa Cruz. We were referred here by friends and found it to be a special little place with a great atmosphere, terrific food, and friendly & efficient staff. There are several outside tables and a much larger interior than you'd expect. The inside is decorated... More

We are locals who don't mind the wait for an extraordinary breakfast. Food is always excellent. Potatos are fried with onions instead of peppered with papricka. Benedicts are exceptional with eggs poached just right and the best Hollandaise. Several options from original to tuna and florentine. Coffee is excellent as is the service. Couple secrets: you can do half orders... More

The food was fabulous and the environment even better! We enjoyed everything about this place. We chose to eat here for breakfast 2 mornings in a row! We had the Huevos Mexicanos and French Toast. Brought us back the next morning for more!

We noticed a crowd around the entrance to the Walnut Avenue Cafe last Sunday and decided to give it a try. After about a 15 minute wait we were seated and were enjoying a tasty cup of coffee. I ordered the teriyaki chicken sandwich with salad and my husband had the chorizo breakfast scramble, and both were delicious. I particularly... More

We ate breakfast here once while staying in Santa Cruz a few days. It looks like a place the locals frequent. The food was good and the service as well. Parking was a little tough since it's downtown. If we ever come back to Santa Cruz, we'd eat here again.

Excellent breakfast, crowded, noisy. I had the shrimp, tomato, cheese scramble which was fantastic. The potatoes were very good, just too much to eat. My husband had the eggs benedict which he said was very good, also.
