My family and I visited Santa Barbara for a week from the Bay Area and dined at Bouchon on the last night of our trip. It was a wonderful experience with great food. I didn't realize that this place wasn't related to the Bouchon in...Yontville...oops! We ordered the crab cakes and French onion soup for appetizer, sea bass, short ribs, chicken, and lobster pot pie for entrees, and the lava cake for dessert. Everything was great but my favorite was the lobster pot pie. It's like a lobster bisque with a crispy croissant on top that you mix in. Lots of big, chunky lobster pieces. The portions were all very ample as well. Our server was fantastic. Super friendly and attentive, and made our dining experience even more enjoyable.More

Finally got to dine at Bouchon again after a 15 month pandemic hiatus and it did not disappoint. The outdoor dining pavilion is comfy and stylish and the food was a revelation. French Onion Soup was divine and salads tasty and fresh. The entrees were...absolute standouts: Braised short rib with risotto, rack of lamb with roasted fennel, leeks, and prosciutto, and pan roasted local Seabass with fingerlings. Dinner was completed with blackberry lemon upside down cake with lemon-marionberry ice cream and lemon tarts with fresh berries. Our Server Dominick provided top notch, personable service and I don’t think there was any room for improvement in any aspect of this dining experience. All I can say is “go eat here!”More

We had dinner al fresco here last night. It was a first class experience. The service was friendly and helpful. My wife had the French onion soup and a mushroom ragout; I had the duck. We finished with a lemon tart. Everything was delicious. My...wife was not keen on the first glass of wine she ordered and the sommelier said "no problem" and brought her a wine more suitable to her taste. I would definitely eat here again if in the area.More

Bouchon has been on my list of restaurants for 20 years. I was beyond excited to celebrate both my birthday and first Bouchon experience. What a night! I can't begin to describe the absolute elegance, quality, a pure gratification Bouchon offers. Walked in without a...reservation and was seated immediately (Monday night). My waiter was fantastic, in fact, the entire staff was fantastic. The cuisine was exquisite...as I've mentioned before "you get what you pay for". From the first pour of wine to the appetizer to the top off pour of wine to the main to the last pour of wine to dessert and lets not forget one last top off pour of wine to complete a double special occasion, was prepared and presented beautifully with exceptional quality and taste. What a meal! Hats off to the Chef de Cuisine. Hats off to the staff. Hats off to Bouchon. What a memorable evening. Merci Beaucoup.More

My husband and I came here for our Ann dinner. The restaurant put rose petals on our table together with a lovely note. The food was as good as we remembered from previous visits. Scallops were cooked perfectly. My local sea bass was seared on...the outside and moist and tender on the inside. My husband’s lobster pot pie was delicious. All the dishes were nicely presented. Our waiter was very knowledgeable with wine and recommended pairings for each dish. The suggested wines were all excellent.More

We came a little early and we were seated which was nice so dinner at 7:30pm Glad to see indoor and outdoor seating was nice. The food and freshness of the ingredients are amazing. This restaurant is a must. The fish I had was so...fresh the homemade Creme Brulee was amazing. Great wine selection. The smells of the kitchen I loved along with a full view of the chef at work.More

Had a table outside with the heaters on - very hot so the waiter kindly turned them to low for us - then, unfortunately, a group of 4( seemed to be friends of the chef arrived) and they wanted them up - I said no...thanks - not they they even had a thought about me!. Got a glaring star. So after sitting down this group of four whilst I was distracted got the waiter to turn up the heater. So then I have to call him over again and get it moved move to their table which was right next to us. Said thanks for even asking? Same waiter. About 5 seconds later they were complaining it was too hot - seriously, thanks for making our intimate evening a disaster. So then the chef comes back to them and they are ordering away. We get our food and whilst I have my coat keeping my legs warm, they get theirs - the male (at this table starts complaining this is under seasoned etc. ) We are eating - husband had the supposed signature dish of duck - tasted chewy, definitely not crispy skinned - very disappointing. My sea bass tiny portion and nothing to rave about at all - in fact I would say cold. I am still struggling to understand the rave reviews of this place. Have none of you eat French food before! Very disappointed that the chef did not even have the decency to ask us (right next to these "elite" people if we were enjoying or anything? Found this very rude but if these people were his friends or relatives then guess rudeness comes from the same tree . Positives, the waiter was good.More

With Covid restrictions the restaurant has a covered outdoor area in the closed off street. Staff was helpful and attentive but not intrusive, the heat lamps were on, and the music was soft. As for the food, it was delicious. We shared a mixed greens...salad, Herbes de Provence crusted tuna, the duck duo and chocolate molten lava cake. Our bill, with wine was $187. Highly recommend.More

Had a beautiful al-fresco dinner here under twinkle lights in the charming courtyard for my birthday. The food was great and the service was wonderful (they added a personal greeting card and flowers to our table). Very romantic setting highly recommended to celebrate special moments...when in Santa Barbara.More
