Yes the pupusas are alright but not good enough to go back after being treated rudely. The waitress couldn't figure out how to order 2 pupusas seperatly for us, we were 5 person group.... so the manager came and was rude, I felt he didn't really want us or business. Since they remodeled they act like they are too good... More

This is a nice little Salvadoran Restaurant that is family owned. Best pupusas I've had in quite awhile. Authentic flavors and great service. When I am in this area I'll be back again!!!

I met my wife during my lunch break at a nearby Salvadorian restaurant. Izalco is a casual place but it is comfortable. We had Horchata to drink and two Pupusa's and a pork tamale. I am not expert on Salvadorian food but we enjoyed our lunch. It was tasty but not any kind of wow factor. Our server Aleyda was... More

Tried the Taco Trio which tasted good but the chicken had bones. The pork and beef were also done well. The portions were average, or even a little small. The Rosa de Jamaica drink that was quite delicious but somewhat costly, and refills are not free. Service was a tad slow, or seemed to be since it was lunch and... More

I've been here 2x's so I am trying to give them the benefit: A group of my coworkers went out for lunch, and was treated terribly. Bones were found in the chcken taco. Rather than trying to make it right, a few bucks was taken off the tab. No apologies. Another person ordered a salad, and the bottom of the... More

We've been there several times during extremely high traffic time and I have to say all the servers are friendly, nice and helpful. The food is incredible! The only low point I'd have to say is how the owner and his son sometimes treat the staff. They all have been excellent and should be appreciated and respected more.

I had eaten pupusas in Central America and wanted to find them locally. I came across Izalco in the Art District in Santa Ana and decided to give it a try. Izalco has a combination modern atmosphere but also has a very casual feel. I was seated very quickly and my order was taken shortly thereafter. I ordered two pupusas,... More

Ranks right up there with El Molcajete in LA. I am Salvadoran and I love these pupusas with the curdito and red sauce. Order the horchata de morro too. You won't be disappointed with true Salvadoran cuisine!!!
