We made the reservation for 4 but ended up with 5. They managed to accommodate us which was the beginning of a nice evening. Good service, very attentive server who offered to bring 3 samples of beer for for my friend so he could decide...More

The food was delectable except for the wild mushroom dish. The curry was too spicy and the peppers drowned out any wild mushroom flavor. In addition the plating of the food and presentation was mediocre. Overall the flavors were fabulous but it left me wanting...More

This place is #1 for a reason - I have NO complaints, not even about their policy of "no substitutions" (which I'm certain is for a reason - they know how to mix and balance flavors oh my goodness). There were four of us and...More

This is fusion cuisine at it's best. Hands down the best food in Orange County. Not an intimate dining venue but a great place to have a great meal with friends. Sunday Supper is an amazing deal but usually booked up weeks in advance.

Really interesting fun meal with terrific food. This has been a favorite of our son and his girlfriend who proposed it for their college graduation party. We all had a great time.

We were looking for somewhere for a companionable beer and stumbled on the place. The beer was good, but the food was unusual and excellent. We also had their special cocktail with unknown ingredients, and it was delicious. The staff also were very nice. Will...More

Some business colleagues and I recently had dinner at The Playground, and loved the many dishes we tried. Most of the offerings are smaller shared plates (tapas), and we enjoyed them all. The ambiance of The Playground is modern and cutting edge, and the food...More

The Playground offers very creative dishes. Great for ordering a variety for the table so everyone can try each dish...and you will want to! Our favorite on this visit were the cornbread waffles! The only negative to mention are that there are NO substituions. We...More

Fabulous food and drinks. Lots of attention to the details in the drinks [special ice cubes, custom made] and the food. Unique custom crafted dishes that were delicious. Popular with millennials after 9:00pm. Make reservations!

Description
NOTE: We're doing major renovations that will require us to close the restaurant from July 18 through July 29. We're sorry if this causes you any convenience.

Chef driven, ingredient driven affordable small plates and craft cocktails and beers. A young and creative team of chefs led by Executive Chef, Jason Quinn, change up the menu daily to keep the dining experience fresh and exciting. Orange County's "Best Bartender" making exciting craft cocktails and Santa Ana's best beer program, with 15 craft beers on tap and approximately 60 bottled beers, including many rarities. The dining experience is different at Playground: You're expected to share, so don't think in terms of my dish or your dish, and we're stubborn about our no-modification rule. If you're adventurous you'll probably love it; if you need control over your dish preparation, you probably won't.
