Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Golden stop for a long time. Great wine, and Sebastian’s Burger. Then, they moved. Hyper snob staff made a big mistake judging my Australian friends. Sucked up to a French couple, buying 2 bottles of wine. We walked out, went to another winery in Cambria....Ooh, you guys blew it. You missed a lot of cash, and good will. Never again. Coming through with more visitors, from north, tomorrow…..and we’re driving right by, to Harmony Cellars.More

Great location and service. Stopped by for some wine tasting for our 35 anniversary. The staff was outstanding and friendly. We had some wine and cold cuts while enjoying an amazing view of the beach and pier.

The Hearst Ranch wine facility is terrific and the people working there are very friendly. However... The menu from the food truck and the food from the truck are not any where what they had been in the original Sebastian's building. The Trip Advisor page...shows great looking hamburgers and fries... from days gone past.More

Stopped here after a scary morning on Big Sur in the fog - have rarely been so pleased to get to a cafe (and off a windy road). Just what you need in the circumstances, really quick service, great choice, great value. I especially recommend...the chilli chips!More

The food truck ruins an otherwise nice setting and experience. We ordered french fries which came out cold and soggy after an hour wait. Gave it a 2/5 instead of a 1/5 because we didn’t order “real” food and staff were apologetic about the wait...time so they seem to know there’s and issue. Hopefully this gets sorted and the Sebastian’s of old can return.More

We stopped here hoping to get a good bite to eat. There was a line to order that was longer that we had hoped for and we learned it was food from a food truck that was taking a long time. We decided to move...on as we were on a tight schedule. The views are quite nice here in this small oasis.More

Good food (limited menu) is available across the street, where the winery tasting room has moved. The tasting room is in a warehouse with seating inside and out. The food is prepared in food truck located at the other end of the building. The outdoor...seating is subject to birds but the view of the bay/cove is outstanding.More

Food was ok but not what it used to be at the former location when ran by a different company. Location is great and views are wonderful.

Sebastian's Cafe is closed since the building is being renovated. Not sure if they will return. Some other food options across the way at the new Hearst Ranch Winery tasting room. It's nice across the street at the new location for the winery.

We ate at what is hopefully the temporary location of Sebastian’s that includes a food truck instead of a kitchen. The wait time was 45 minutes for a burger with fries (only one selection on the menu) the “Truck Burger”. The fries were served barely...warm. The burger was over seasoned and salty, not thick and juicy like the those served in the original location. The memorable flavor of the Hearst Ranch beef was lost. We definitely will not go back for food. There are much better options in Cambria and Morro Bay.More

Located adjacent to the San Simeon State Beach and Pier. Can be pretty crowded on the weekends. Indoor and outdoor seating. Food is a bit pricey but good and served up pretty quickly. Burgers, fish and chips, salads. When your done eating you can just...walk across the street and do some wine tasting as the Hearst Ranch Wine Tasting Room has recently moved in to a larger serving room. Try the Randolph wine if it is available!More

This is the nearest place to eat to Hearst castle......but......it’s a little hidden away, not on the main road, which is a blessing as most people won’t find it. But type it into your GPS and hey presto!!!!

This place has the feel of an old fashioned California burger joint, complete with outdoor picnic bench, table, and counter type seating. And yet, the Hearst Castle Winery shares the building so you can taste wines and have a burger to go or sit outside....There’s a little telescope on the grounds so you can peer up and see the Hearst Castle. Nice spotMore

We stopped here because we were hungry and this was the closest place to Hearst Castle. It turns out the burgers are actually from the Hearst cattle ranch. The service counter runs smoothly and efficiently. The burgers are very large. I actually commented I didn’t...need to get a side because it was so filling. Our group’s favorite was the ABC burger but it was all good. There is also a bar with wine available attached to the restaurant. The restaurant is in an old market and has a little post office attached which is pretty cool. Would definitely eat here again.More

This restaurant has excellent food and fast service. The scenery is pleasant. There is also an opportunity to wine taste or buy a glass to add to your meal.
