The meat was really excellent. One of the best prime I had in a long time. The wine selection is also very good. Friendly service. A good experience and I can recommend this place. Try one of the steaks - they are delicious!

located in downtown san mateo; parking is not too bad of an issue; but if you want really good prime rib, this is the place to go; service is great; side dishes are delicious; recommend the baked potato and creamed spinach

We were first diners until a large Asian group came in. Server not very attentive to us. Had to wait to order as he was catering to the big party. When we got our food, had to send back as it was cold. Server upset at us becase of that.

We came here for Mother's Day. This place is the same owner as Broadway Prime. The meat is fresh, thick and you have choices of your sides. I love their popovers! The salad is just ok but what I love is their New York cut. The service is great too and the staff is very attentive. You definitely get your... More

Wait staff and bar were excellent. The salad was over dressed to my liking. I would prefer to have the dressing on the side. Prime rib was cooked to my order. So delicious that I barely ate my side orders of garlic mashed potatoes and spinach. Over all, I would visit again when in the mood for prime rib.

Having been to their sister restaurant, Broadway Prime", I was expecting a similar pleasant ambience. San Mateo Prime is very basic in that department. Like, basically a bare room with tables and chairs and not much else going on. It looks more like a temporary "pop-up" restaurant than anything permanent that perhaps some design consideration went into. Our waiter was... More

I'v had dinner in Sam Mateo prime a few times, mostly when i didn't want to drive up to San francisco to the House of Prime Rib, or down to Palo alto to Sundance, the Prime Rib is good, bit not as good as the establishments mentioned above, the service is excellent and very friendly, and there us usually no... This is a sister restaurant to Burlingame Prime and is worth the trip. Old Italian restaurant décor with tall ceilings.
