We stopped in here on a recommendation the other day after a really long day of work with a bunch of volunteers. I did not disappoint. The food was much better than standard pub grub. And the service was great. Easy parking, we even had a trailer with us. And it was appropriate for the kids as well.

I've marked this place with 3 not because of food which is very good (I love the Argentinian-style skirt stake) but because of the service. I know during St Patrick's day the city is full but tables was only partially occupied. Food came faster than drinks which I had to order 2 or 3 times. We also wanted some dessert... More

Downtown San José needed a true sports bar venue and got in the old Billy Berks restaurant on South 1st Street. Spacious layout with huge beer tap setup in middle. Good menu with house specialties like bbq ribs and a mouth watering giant 38 ounce ribeye cooked to order with sides. TV screens abound on all sides. Large parties are... More

We were traveling through the area on the way to wine country, and wanted to stop and catch the Patriots and Jets game. The restaurant was busy with lots of different games going on but we were given good seats with a great view of the television. The waitresses were very attentive even though we were only ordering food and... More

On a recent business trip to San Jose I randomly found Rookies. I was staying downtown but heard great things and wanted to watch the Warriors play so I was willing to take a cab. The ride only took about 6 minutes which was great. Anyway the place just feels fun and comfortable, I can't really explain it, sort of... More

The girls who take orders and serve drinks were very nice and service was good. The owner was extremely rude when he decided not to honor a small gift certificate for a large party because he said the previous owner issued the certificate. I told him that I thought that was a terrible business practice and he literally told me... More

A sports bar in the former location of a pizza parlor. Food of the type suitable for watching sports--build your own burger, other sandwiches, salads, appetizers, nachos, etc. Numerous bottled beers to choose from served by the glass or pitcher. The burger meat is the quality of McDonalds, the french fries are excellent, but the chili is soup, with few... More

If you are new to the town or a local, this is by far the best place to grab a drink and watch a game. The staff makes the experience worth while. I have to admit, I didn't love the place when it first opened but about a year after opening the owner really worked out the kinks and scored... More

I come here to watch my favorite sports teams...being that I'm from the East Coast, I was thrilled to stumble upon this gem of a sports bar. The food is fantastic, especially the tacos and the nachos. I hear the pizza and wings are tasty as well. Yes the food is delicious and the drinks are cheap, but the real... More

When the Giants are in the playoffs every one of the 20+ TVs is on the game - great atmosphere. Other times they will show all of the other live football, baseball, hockey, basketball, etc. games. Good beers on tap (Stella, Mirror Pond, Batch 19), wine, full bar; and much better than average pizza and pub fare.
