Just for the record, I trust Trip Advisor with all of my food selections. This one does not live up to expectations or the rating. Food was just OK and the quality of mixed drinks was subpar. Considering that we had to drive there from Santa Clara conventional center it was not worth ride

I visited due to the positive reviews and what looked to be a good happy hour menu/prices. I wasn't wrong. The bar tender was great and recommended the chicken wings. They were wonderful. A nice dry rub with a side of ranch (if you ask). BTW, the ranch is not needed. They are very tasty without it. I had a... More

Of all the dishes we ordered the pork chop with egg over grits definitely stood out. It was very tender & flavorful. We also enjoyed the french toast with bananas, though the glob of peanut butter was a tad too generous, the dish was delicious. Burgers & sloppy joe were good. Full bar. Overall, Brunch at this gastro pub was... More

We just returned from what can only be termed an exquisite dining experience! The atmosphere was more neighborhood bar than fine restaurant which made the food a delightful surprise. Three of us shared the bacon Gouda Mac n cheese (to die for but SUPER rich-best to share), heirloom caprese salad (delicious and perfectly proportioned and seasoned), beet salad (equally fabulous),... This place has quite a limited menu, the prices are surprisingly high. No problem finding much better value in San Jose. The service left a lot to be desired as well.

We had an excellent Saturday dinner for two here. We parked at the structure across the street, asked for an outside table, and were promptly seated at the patio area in the front, which is really right on the sidewalk; we did have a reservation, but they probably would have been able to seat us anyway. The patio is rather... More

Validated parking (just across the way), great cheeseburger and salads and chicken sandwiches, convenient and friendly outdoor tables - great wait and bar staff.

Amazing food and drink here with exceptional service. What a hidden gem in middle of so many places. This place has a soul and cool vibe. Great patio and cozy dining room with a bar. Great value to boot. Next time will be a steak and frites night. Highly recommend this restaurant, excellent food and service.

Limited menu, food was tasty, selected spiced chicken wings, Homemade BBQ chips with onion dip from appetizer list and cheeseburger. Chicken wings were best ever along with chips. The cheeseburger was served with fries or salad, spring lettuce and grilled onions, very tasty. Parking is available across the street in parking lot, if street parking is not available.

We thoroughly enjoyed our drinks and meals at Firehouse No. 1. We went here as a group of three for both business and social aspects. The beer selection here was excellent. The on-tap selection was limited, but all very good...and apparently frequently rotating, so it certainly would be worth coming back for that. The food menu was relatively small, but... More

Description
Firehouse No. 1 Bar & Grill is a outstanding San Jose destination when you're looking for great food, delicious drinks, and friendly people. Gastro pub quality fare made from scratch in addition to impressive daily specials. A vast and well stocked bar that includes hand crafted cocktails in addition to draft and bottle beers, and select wines. Be sure to participate in the occasional whole bar sing-alongs, or cheer the bartenders on as they prepare exotic flaming drinks and smash bottles behind the bar. Lots of LCD screens when there is a sporting event or Sharks game - or just digital flames all around late at night. Open from 11AM until 2AM weekdays with happy hour from 3pm to 7pm. On weekends, open from 4PM until 2AM. We have full table service both inside and on the patio. Patio heaters when its cold.
