We come here often when we want breakfast food. The place looks like a diner from the 50's but it's clean and casual. Menu items are pretty standard but the food is always excellent. Service is also excellent as we've never had any issues large or small with Big Joe's. This, in my opinion is the only place to get... More

We ate at Big Joes...found it nostalgic...reminded me of eating at the counters of diners when I was young. The food was very good (good sized portions too) and not overpriced; and the staff friendly. If you are hungry for a burger...you won't be disappointed!

Met some friends here for a really enjoyable meal, expansive menu, attentive service, with a neighborhood charm and feel complete with back talking waiter making us feel truly at home, and welcome!

I was grossed out by catching a waitress wipe down the counter then dry a coffee pot with the same towel! Also, they water down their soap dispenser in the bathroom

We stopped here for some breakfast before dropping someone off at the airport. The restaurant wasn't very crowded for a Sunday. We were quickly brought menus which had pretty typical diner options of eggs, pancakes, burgers, etc. I had the spicy sausage with eggs, hash browns, and toast which was just ok - the sausage wan't as spicy as I... Good place to grab breakfast/lunch in downtown San Bruno. Food is typical diner food but popular with locals.

On our way overseas, we stayed overnight near SFO and found ourselves in San Bruno. We waked along San Mateo Ave and discovered Big Joe's. I had one of the best hamburgers I've ever eaten! Fresh, well seasoned and juicy! There were about 10 specials that were reasonably priced and looked great. Portions were certainly generous, too. I heard other... More

I had been going to the Big Joe's once every other week for many years because the kids were taking swim lessons across the street. Big Joe's is great for that: quick service, broad diner menu, suitable for kids, etc.. But like many other restaurants in San Bruno, it is a three star experience--good but not great. If I had...
