The restaurant is a nice fresh idea. They have a good selection of fine foods to try. They also have a small selection of lower cost items as well. They have a full bar and the atmosphere is pleasant. This is a great place to reserve a table for before a show or other event.

Trying to do the right things, but food was under-salted and had a few things that were obviously sitting under the heat lamp for quite some time. (wilted lettuce, and luke warm entree) Good wine list.

We went to dinner with 3 other couples on a Monday night. We were hoping for a great evening out but it was less than stellar: 1. When we arrived the restaurant was so cold that even the hostess commented on it. It's a chilly night (by Sacramento standards) and it was uncomfortably chilly inside. 2. We ordered beverages and... We did a special 3-course option meal with octopus (a bit fishy but very tender), pork with clams (very good), and lemon soufflé (not so much soufflé but good nonetheless). The two cocktails I had were excellent- the strawberry blonde negroni was great, though it had little in common with a classic negroni, and the seasonal punch with spiced rum... More

We came for Dine Downtown 3 for $30 dinner. Bravely tried the grilled octopus salad and loved it. The meat was tender and flavorful. Would not have known I was eating octopus. The pork and clam entree was good but a odd mix. The sauce was a heavy red pepper aioli. Very heavy for a summer meal. The grilled flat... More

I am hearing impaired which makes loud noise uncomfortable. The food is average. Price fair. Ambient music, loud talking, noise reverberates on solid walls and the bartender likes to make noise with drinks and a hammer. Good for solo dining with noise cancelling headphones.

This is a gem on L Street - great bar, locally-sourced menu choices and great service. Give it a try; you will enjoy your evening.

I'm a sucker for a good plate of charcuterie and cheese and theirs is great. A pisco sour was also fabulous and some fried green tomatoes. But the special was dynamite - a lightly seared tuna on a salad with watermelon and crunchy farro grains. Went just perfectly with the house rose. The space is open and airy, and the... More

Great food, great bar service. The pizza was amazing...crust was chewy but charred - everything you want. Daniel at the bar was very professional but easy to talk to and interact with. A must if you're in town.

A "Farm to Fork" restaurant in downtown Sacramento. The food is always good. We go here a few times a year before we have theater tickets. Whenever we tell our server they always make sure we are served promptly so we can get to the theater on time. I recommend reservations- the Open Table app always works well for us.... More

Description
A celebration of the Sacramento region's rich history and bountiful terrain, the restaurant is named after John Sutter's Hock Farm. The menu is inspired by the region's amazing bounty of produce, meats and hand-crafted goods. Many of the menu items are determined by what the chefs find at local farmer's markets and farms. The bar program features ingredient-driven classic cocktails, often re-imagined with local produce and locally-produced goods.
