Fat City Bar & Café has been around for years and has lots of charm. We went there Sunday for lunch and were very disappointed as Fat’s who has been around for years used to be really good. It was a slow afternoon for the restaurant; the waiter was pleasant and was so embarrassed by what happened to us that... More

Love the decor of this establishment in old Sacramento. Very good waiter. The food was pretty good. My wife enjoyed the French onion soup. I had the angel hair pasta which was way heavy on the sun dried tomatoes. My daughter's chicken fingers and fries were good. The overall meal was not so filling, but tasted good. The bill was... Having just moved back to Sacramento, this was a get reacquainted visit to the Old Sacramento location. Once you navigate the cobbled street and find a parking spot, it was a pleasant walk on old plank walkways. We were seated immediately and the waiter was very responsive to take orders for drinks and eventually our entree orders. The ambiance is... More

I visit Old Sacramento often and have walked past this restaurant many times so I decided to finally try it while with friends on St. Patrick's day. The menu is simple and offers great options and alternatives for those who are on a diet or vegetarian. All three of us decided on the bacon cheeseburger with thousand island dressing. The... More

I had a great [early] Saturday dinner in busy Old Town. I had their dinner salad, which is generous, and had shaved veggies to accent the coastal greens. The Chicken Marsala was tender, and is prepared with mushrooms -- instead of the typical capers; over mashed potatoes -- instead of the typical pasta. They also have great beers and ales... More

We were a group of seven on Valentine's Day. The Firehouse was charging $150 per person for a prix fixe meal. Fat City was not pretentious like that. Really good food, a bright ambiance with Tiffany lamps, and all of us enjoyed it.
