After 1 hour in line at about 2pm on a weekday afternoon, we were quickly seated. Great vibes. $1 Kirin beer. Like the menu where you can build your own bowl of ramen. A basic bowl of ramen with cha siu, noodles and green onions costs $6.95, and all other toppings (too many to choose) are extras.

We go to Hakata Ramen Shinsengumi for great authentic ramen and that's what we get. The taste is consistent with other Hakata Ramen Shinsengumi around the Southland. It is worth the wait. Trust me.

We stopped by this place after a late check-in at a hotel nearby and felt like some warm comfort Asian food. We were trying to decided between pho or ramen but found this place highly recommended on both TA and Yelp so we decided to give it a try. We arrived around 10 pm and there were 4 parties waiting... I have found an authentic Ramen place near where I live aside of course from Fujin Ramen. They serve one type of ramen, the Hakata. We didn't wait in line that long as it was late in the afternoon. I guess we were just lucky. We were also seated at the bar as I watched this Japanese guy does his... More

They do one thing here and they do it very well, Ramen. They do have side dishes like gyoto (wontons) steamed rice and Japanese style beef, like what you would see at Yoshinoya but the specialty is the ramen. Not fluent in Japanese? No worries, they only prepare their ramen one way. You get a list of things you can... More

Now many of the ramen joints have expanded eastward, because many of its demographics reside in these areas and obviously, it is a pain to get to Little Tokyo for lunch. This SSG is right in the heart of Asiantown, but its appeal is beyond just the Asian foodies and what not. Make sure to get extra noodles, its worth... More

First time to visit the place with family. Additions available for a price. Flavor it the way you want it. The staff are friendly and courteous. Prepare to wait but it's worth it. Will be back to make more!

Traditional Japanese's restaurant type. All waiters and cooks greet you loudly as soon as you walk in. This is a " built your own ramen" type. You can choose ramen (normal, hard...), thickness and richness of soup, many add-in such as char-siu, egg poaches, fried onion... (extra charge, of course. Lol). What stands out from this restaurant to others is... More

We frequent this ramen house about once a month. It's a distance from home but worth the drive. The broth is consistant and the choice of noodle ramen is always on the dot. They also offer many other items on their menu. I usually get the Chashu rice bowl and their dollar salad. I also like the many choices on... More
