Excellent corned beef. Very tender and not too salty. Plenty to go home with. Had the coconut cream pie and shared it around just the right amount.

The Black Bear does a good job in general, but this is one of my favorite Highway 5 spots to stop and get some food.

My husband and I went to Black Bear after attending service at Bethel Church. I had their pancakes and bacon! By far these are the best pancakes I've ever eaten. The bacon was really good too! My husband had the Tri-Tip Combo and thought is was just okay. Our waiter was nice. They seemed a little short handed especially since... More

This is truly your classic American diner! The menu is full of choices and breakfast is served all day! The service is fast and the waitresses are very helpful and personable. My wife loved her Chinese cabbage salad and I had a huge taco salad! This is our first time at Black Bear and when we're back up north, we'll... More

The last time I went here with my family, we were treated horribly. When we ordered our dessert pies, the waitress told my mom that they were out with an attitude and when we got up to pay minutes later, there were dozens of pies including the kind she ordered in the case!! We do not like being lied to!... More

Went here with family the day after Christmas. This was our first time here. It was a good wait till we got a table but it was worth it. They were extremely bust that day. Although the place was packed and very busy - the staff was very good. The food portions are very large - so be prepared. The... More

My son & I went to the Redding Black Bear Diner for dinner, as we have been to this chain before. The food quality & service is always very good and I have never been disappointed. The special was Prime Rib and it was perfectly cooked to order. The green beans are not usually my favorite, but they were very... More

Black Bear Diner is an amazing restaurant with delicious comfort food. Went here for Christmas Day lunch with my family and the meal was great. We had the choice of turkey, ham, or prime rid with stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn bread, cranberry sauce, green beans, and bread pudding. The portions were large and the food was well-made. The service was... More
