Very friendly and pleasant service. The food tasted good and the booze made from chaga and handsa was even better!
We went there with a dog and a couple of kids. The dog was greeted with a bowl of fresh water and the kids had 3 different play-areas to entertain themselves. The menu consisted of local meat (we got deer roast, plus rabbit and lamb...soup), something for the kids (pulled pork burger and home-made pasta) and a lot of different cakes. We were all satisfied with the taste and got a great meal out of it.More
Nobody served us 18 min, the waitress just passed our table at least 10 times not saying anything, not even “hello, I am coming soon”, “hello, you need to order from the counter” etc. The place looked very nice but the service killed the feeling.
A pleasantly cozy place where you can go to sit in any season and, depending on the season, also eat delicious food. In addition, on a cold autumn-winter evening, take a tempting and delicious piece of cake and a small tea next to it. I...definitely recommend visiting, I have visited it many times and I will definitely go again :)More
Fantastic food, great staff and fun place. Definitely stop by if visiting Munamagi mountain or just passing by. Great place to catch breath and relax in summer, but looked like it could also be cool in winter time, when its also open. Have great choices...of local food made from local ingredients. Always a place for a drink/coffee/herb tea and a cake or salad. Funky and hip design with a great atmosphere. However best to make sure and have enough time for local flavour feast and have some of the main menu - local game, lamb, beef or pike perch. Kids have great choices here and are not forgotten - starting from potato/beef cutlet to pancakes. Make sure to come timely for dinner as the kitchen closes 20:30 but mains might not be available already 20:00 if its busy. Thanks again to all the staff there- both food and service were fantastic!More
Thank you for such a detailed review! Hope to see you again, soon! :) Thank you for this boost! :)
This place is a top for local food taste. From starter to deserts. Just amazing. Smoked local cheese and meet, fish and wild meat. Disco toilet upstairs 😀👍 Recommend
It is an amazing place. Good local food, cakes to die for. Sometimes in evenings as cinema. In winter time also possible to do husky trips, have to be booked in advance. Over all great place
Thank you Elin, You are always very welcome back :) Suur Muna
Lots of cool stuff on their menu showing foods from the local area. We had the amazing mushrooms that everyone forages for in summer and also some delicious pulled pork. Friendly service but uncomfortable chairs outside! Worth checking out.
This is a hidden gem in southern Estonia. It is located at the base of Suur Munamägi (Egg Mountain) in Voru county. They have seating outside and an upper level. It is a very relaxing atmosphere with truly amazing Estonian food. The menu is on...a large board on the wall. We ordered our food and it was delivered to our table outside. A few of us ordered potatoes, cabbage soup and a herring dish, which was set out on tables as self-serve. I was so surprised at how fantastic the food tasted! I even indulged in a dessert and cappuccino. When we needed to use the restroom the women directed us upstairs and told us to have fun. We thought that was a very strange thing to say, but thought maybe it's just an Estonian thing. Well, I completely understood when I opened the door. A disco ball started flashing, lighting up the entire room, posters of ABBA plastered on the walls and their music blaring. It was hilarious! I completely understood why the women told us to have fun! There are two restrooms and each has a different theme. I wish I could upload my short video of the disco ball! I believe another review has a photo.More
This a lovely place. From every detail you can tell that people who run this place are doing it from the heart. They have also selection of vegan/vegetarian options, which is not common at all in Estonian countryside. The decoration is lovely, be sure to...check out the toilets upstairs....More
We were only staying one night in the area and this was where we decided to eat. The owner was so welcoming and friendly, we felt very comfortable and at home even though we were the only guests. The food was great, my first time...having beaver and I would again after this experience. My other half had the pike perch and it was wonderful. There was a great range of beers and ciders plus what looked like delicious cakes. Overall we were very happy and can thoroughly recommend this restaurant. Oh and the toilets themselves are worth a visit all of their own.More
Really cosy place with graate local food. You can have lunch offers every day, also nice menu with local product like venison, moose, lamb etc. For dessert, there is beautiful cakes. Did not excpect so nice place in the middle on nowere 🙂
The place is warm and cozy. Conveniently located along the road. Owners seems to care about place. Unfortunately food was not tasty for all of us.
You can find perfect combo in yhis cafe: North-Estonian know how and style combined with South-Estonia primary goods. Very friendly service, perfectly made dishes. Good atmosphere and outside playground for children. Deffinetly recomment for families. And this lime-avocado cake. Omg, I loved it!
