Tasted 3 reds, all cloudy and thick with residue in each pour. We had a wonderful wide ranging conversation with the owner, but the tasting room is dated and the wines on offer seem to suit a very particular type of palette - not ours I'm afraid.

Thought it strange, but first thing in the door we were greeted with "I hope you like Reds" My wife being a white wine drinker was immediately turned off. The tasting room was dated and not real well laid out, but the owner was pleasant. I did not care for their wined, but that is a preference thing. Too dry... More

Visited Falcon Nest (and owners Francesco and Carol) again this past weekend, and once again, we were totally blown away by their wines. These are old world wines, and very distinctive for the Paso area, in that they are just now tasting their 2003-2004 wines . . . amazing. Falcon Nest is a very small, unassuming winery that has not... More

Falcon Nest is a very assuming, quiet winery which produces truly exceptional wines - straight varietals (no bottled blends), which can be individually blended - if you want, to fit your own taste. People who know wines and aren't out for the glitzy/glam so many wineries today will recognize that this place is the real deal - the wines are... More

Very strange tasting. Offered 3 "old" wines but only took one sip. Odd color, cloudy and tasted spoiled. Very nice owners but a very poor experience.

Falcon Nest winery is a little off the beaten path, on Union Road, but really not too far from 46E. We had heard they had an old world style and I thought that meant more of a Bordeaux blend. I don't know if they have an old world style or not, maybe I don't know what that means or maybe... More

One word: Delightful! I wanted to pick up some wine on my way home, and had decided to settle for a bottle of a decent and economical, but unimaginative standby known as "Red." For some reason the gang sign that lists 15 wineries all on or near Union Road, caught my attention and sparked the spirit of adventure. So down... More

We discovered Falcon Nest in 2010. It is a must stop when we are in the Paso area. They have some of the best reds, I've had ~ especially their zinfandel. We've brought back several bottles and family and friends that are wine connoisseurs and into wine as much as we are, rave about the Falcon Nest wines. We purchased... More

We had very friendly visit with the sever, but this wine was absolutely the worst thing I have ever had. Either this was all just exceptionally bad wine, or the bottles had been open for weeks, or both. The server was friendly and somewhat knowledgeable. We tasted 4 wines. I am very glad that the tasting was free with our... More

Description
This is a special dining place with a large dining room just off the tasting room, 360' views of the rolling hills covered with vines, and distant barns, very pleasant. Family run, all cooking is done by the owner, Francisco, and served by his wife. Fare ranges from sandwiches and pizza to full course Continental, Californian, and Italian meals. This is one fun and romantic place to dine. Here is some information from their website. We lunched on a shared Margarita Pizza, perfectly done with fresh homegrown tomato, basil, and local cheese. The crust was homemade, and all was delicious.
