I was very delighted when my family and friends surprised me with a visit to The Raymond yesterday. It's been about a year since the last time I had a meal here and the quality of the food is as good as ever. Though we had a very rare cool and rainy day in LA, the larger covered outdoor patio... The Raymond restaurant is a hidden jewel. Located in a California craftsman house turn restaurant. It is very quaint with lots of unique space indoor and outdoor with a fireplace. Nice place to meet They have a menu buffet with some decadent specialities like CI Simon rolls with raisins. I did go there go there to celebrate his birthday and... More

While the restaurant was not crowded, service was afflicted with long lags between courses. Portion for the salmon was a bit stingy, for the vegetable platter and lamb overwhelmingly large. Desserts were inventive and delicious,

Fantastic food in a beautiful environment. The hand harvested & perfectly prepared scallops simply melted in my mouth. :) Did I mention the pork belly yet!? OMG! Fantastic!!! That was my second time there and it has become one of my favorite in LA.

The patio is quite lovely, and the inside tables looked quite cozy as well. The food on the other hand was rather disappointing. The descriptions sounded innovative and appetizing, the presentation was well done, but the flavor was just not there. We tried multiple small plates, and other than the golden beats I would not recommend any. Service was adequate,... More

We are visiting Pasadena and my boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary (based on friend's recommendation). We had reservations and we got a table outside on the patio right away. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. We ordered cocktails right away... you should get your drink right away because it takes about 15... More

My friend and I were there for lunch. I had a burger with sweet potato fries, he had shrimp in salad. Burger was very good. His salad was very small, especially for the price. When will local restaurants, even upscale ones, stop overcharging?? They shouldn't have diner prices, but really... $40 for lunch for 2? No pickles, no bread with... More

I've reviewed a lot of places, and this is the only one I've ever given a 5-star rating! Unbelievably scrumptious, and a beautiful setting, with the best service! Pricey, but well worth the money for a special occasion. Take the suggestions of the wait staff because there are so many good things on the menu. Don't miss the very cozy... More

I had never been to this restaurant and it was such a treat! Wonderful restaurant with fantastic food set in a Caretaker's Cottage that dates back to 1886 that was once part of a hotel built in that same era. Wonderful setting. Perfect covered patio and very vintage interior with a touch of rustic. Cute little bar. Brunch was wonderful... More

I escaped from California in 2000 to Texas but remembered The Raymond as one of the oldest and best in the entire San Gabriel Valley so my wife & I dined there on a Thursday evening last week. Fortunately I remembered how hard the place was to find and had a wonderful experience that night. We started with two perfect... More
