Fish Market is a chain but this is one of the first of them. Still run well, good staff, nicely appointed and the food is dependable, tasty and well priced. Not a 5 because it's often too busy and too noisy to classify as really pleasant seating but that's me being picky.

The oysters that we ordered had no taste, they seemed to have been washed by a lot of water. The crab Louie salad was very average and not very fresh and my cioppino was just ok. We drank a bottle of Hess white wine. Disappointing lunch this time. We loved this place but didn't come back this time during the... More

It was my favorite place until I got tired of it. Fresh Fish and decent wine, wish they would change up the seasoning a bit.

Delicious fresh fish and seafood! We both had the filet of sole with veggies and fries. The fish was perfectly cooked and so delicious. There's an extensive wine list and cocktails also. Key Lime Pie is authentic and the Apple Crisp is so comforting. Overall fantastic.

I love The Fish Market -- both the restaurant and the seafood shop. Restaurant can get pricey, but it is worth it. We had Ducket's Bucket -- a bowl of mussels and clams, followed by the gorgeous if messy oven roasted crab. Warm Dungeness ... it doesn't get any better. I've also bought the Dungeness from the seafood counter to... More

We totally forget that the Fish Market has a special menu for 4-6 pm Monday-Thursday. We came in at 5:30 after a day of skipping lunch. The menu had fish and chips, 2 pasta dishes, tilapia and rockfish. Each entree came with clam chowder or salad. The fish came with 2 additional side. Great value. We l ft at 6:30... More

I used to visit San Jose at least once per month for many years and I always came for dinner at least once per visit, then I changed jobs and had not visited in 4 years. I came back with some friends for a reminiscing visit and the Fish Market did not disappoint. Love the oysters, love the fresh mesquite... More

I have visited this place since 1990 when in town. Every time is great, service is good, but the food is super!, great selection of beers and wines.

We selected The Fish Market to have a pleasant dinner. It was a week night and quiet enough to have conversation. The service was reasonable, but the food wasn' very good. Just judging from the shrimp entree and cioppino we had, I would not go back.

Thank Stuart S

Our first restaurant has been a Palo Alto institution since its doors opened in 1976. With the brand new addition of an oyster bar, cocktail bar and lounge area, there are now even more ways to experience this unique restaurant. The expansive retail market remains a popular stop for local residents seeking to take home the finest in fresh fish.
