I lived in this area in the 80s and Hobee's was always a favorite. On a recent visit, I was please to discover that it still has the same charm and wonderful food as always. While my diet has changed drastically (gluten free now), I was still able to enjoy a delicious breakfast and drink their wonderful tea. My family... More

Treated to a wonderful breakfast at Hobee's in Palo Alto. First in at 0700 on the coldest day Palo Alto has seen this year and treated to great warm service and a hot breakfast and coffee. You gotta try the blueberry coffee cake!!We will be back.

I was in Palo Alto on business and close to my hotel was Hobee's. I went to a relaxed lunch, and had a comfortable time. Hobee's is not a fast food place - which is exactly why I went. I wanted some genuine food and service. They have a limited wine list but some decent California wines on it. Staff... More

Hobee's is a breath of fresh air in uptight Palo Alto. It hearkens back to the 1970's when the whole vibe in Palo Alto was decidedly different. The menu includes old time favorites - like the surfer smoothie and the tofu scrambler as well as seasonal and daily specials. We used to frequent the location in Town and Country but... More

We ate here while in town for a football game. Great atmosphere and food was delicious. Very unique and wide variety of choices on the menu. We'll definitely come back when we're in town again.

Husband and I were staying next door at the Hilton Garden Lunch. Decided to go for a stroll and find a lunch spot. We had a nice lunch. I had the Aztec Burger with black bean chili on the side. Husband had the Los Altos quesadilla. Both entrees were good, server Mario was attentive but not intrusive. I do not... More

Jenny, thanks very much for your kind words. I especially appreciate the distinction you made about Hobee's not being a typical chain. It's definitely not a cookie cutter operation. Though they share the same menu, each of our Silicon Valley locations is unique. Thanks again for posting a review! More

Noisy on a Sunday morning. I liked the vibe. I guess I didn't read the fine print that explains that turkey bacon is used. I wondered why those little strips looked so weird in my omelet.I want more topping to cake ratio on that banana caramel coffee cake. all was fine, but not fabulous.

I've been there three times recently with my son and my wife. They have two entrees on the menu which are suitable for Vegans: Black Bean Chili and the Fiesta Tamale Pie (hold the Sour Cream for Vegans). They are both delicious! and plentiful. We take half of each dish home for later.

Thanks for the wonderful review! A few clarifications: The Fiesta Tamale Pie is actually not vegan-friendly as it contains eggs and cheese. The black bean chili should also be ordered without queso fresco (in addition to the sour cream you mentioned) to keep it vegan. Finally, vegans also love our soup and salad bar and seven vegetable medley. Thank you... More

Hobies is a Palo Alto institution and I was so sad to find that the one in Town and Country had closed. This one near Arastradero is alive and well. They were even offering another type of coffee cake, banana toffee as an alternative to the amazing blueberry standard when we were there. Four of us met for breakfast. I... More
