I've been to good Cheesesteak sandwich shops like "Philly's Best" in Long Beach & Lake Forest, but this restaurant in Oceanside is 'The Real Deal'. Located in an mostly empty shopping mall, I arrived early before my friend (so, I stayed in my car). I kept watching individuals and whole families walking into this restaurant continuously for like twenty minutes,... More

The Philly Cheesesteak has long been revered as one of the best sandwiches a person can get. Much argument and (hopefully) friendly fighting over who's is best goes on everyday. But finding a good cheesesteak in Southern California isn't always easy. Happily, I must say we found one today. The Cheesesteak Grill is a small restaurant in a strip mall... More

I have had better in Philly, but this is Southern California so come here. Lots of options, I prefer mine spicy while my son likes just meat and cheese. Try the bacon cheese fries if your arteries can handle it.

What more is there to say? I have had all of the best in Philly, Jims, Tony lukes, Mamas, Genos, Pats, and more. He is at their level. Great steaks and beer battered fries.

Visiting here with friends I was skeptical about a good cheese steak in a strip mall. I was wrong, this place is very good. Meat, peppers and cheese on a fresh tasty role, it's all good! While not a native to Philly, I have eaten great cheese steak their many, many times . I will come here again.

No big signs but the locals all know it. I had the works and its as good, if not better than some Philadelphia ones.

being a new yawker from LI I needed to try this cute place out & liked it a lot. My cousin and I both had the mushroom cheesesteak & beer battered onion rings & it was all a nice tasty meal experience. I am looking forward to trying the Taylor Pork Roll next.

This restaurant is on Oceanside Blvd., pretty far from the beach but next to one of Oceanside's rare Starbucks. I stopped for lunch and had the BBQ chicken sandwich with beer battered fries. Absolutely great! They have a terrific BBQ sauce and it is a "cheesesteak" type of sandwich -- extremely good and filling. Moreover, this place has everything. You... More

I thought that the food was very good and it was at reasonable prices. I recommend the garlic fries! Staff was very friendly. I'd definitely go there again.

We've been going to the Cheesesteak grill ever since it opened. The owner knows his stuff including importing Amorosa rolls from Philly. His pizza steaks are just like they should be and his staff knows how to make the grill sing! (Those of you from Philly know what I mean) It's just off the I-5 in the McDonald's mall. (Why... More
