This place is great for the simple fact that you can listen to live music. Most evenings there is a local band showcasing their musical talents. The staff are polite & efficient and deliver service with a smile. The food is good and there is something on the menu for everyone. Definitely worth a look if you enjoy live music... More

The food is wonderful, a little over priced but tasty. It can get loud during the summer and weekends. I was the manager here about 30 years ago and the place is still operating still after all that time. The restaurant must be doing something right. Give it a shot but get there B-4 the crowd.

Former gadfly proprietor would lament the starkly devolved transformation of his former McFadden Wharf crown jewel seafood eatery and musical safe harbor; now a wildly popular imbibing pub, in irons, uncomplemented by cantankerous wailing troubadours, redeemed by its scenic balcony area, adrift from the ocean vista, conveniently located a few fathoms from reputable dining establishments. Next time…mess first nearby, then... More

The bartenders here really made the place worth it. It's cramped, packed with people, and could have been a headache but for the bartenders. The beer selection is great and the food was pretty good. They apparently have live music here, but given how packed it was at lunch we decided to avoid it.

This is a must stop to eat or drink. Old style atmosphere and great pictures hanging on the walls that take you back to the past. Three different levels to choose from and if you go to the third level you will be able to see the Pacific. Food was above average and for this beach area was within the... More

Was one of our favorite "locals" places with live music back in the early 90's, so we were thrilled to look down the alley and see that it's still there some 20 years later, and decided to have dinner there for old-times-sake. The halibut fish-n-chips were good, and the Angus sliders were excellent. We didn't stay long enough to take... More

This has the feel of a college bar with more sofas and casual seating than tables and a large space for live music. That said the menu choices were unexpected and tasted fantastic. They also made one of the best Amaretto Sours I've had in a long time. There were four of us dining that night and I think we... More

I recently moved to the Newport area with my boyfriend who grew up here. His brother recommended we check out blue beet because of their live music and it turns out it was a complete waste of time. The ignorant women (Ashley and Jen)working the bar rejected my drivers license despite my ripe old age of 30 and then continued... More

I stumbled in here my first day in Newport Beach. Set a block or so off of the main beach drive, the quality of food here was much better than the beachside places I tried. I regret not going here for my 'last meal in town'. The service was excellent and there was a nice selection of beers to choose... More
