The best thing about Taco Rosa is the atmosphere and service. The food is pretty average although the menu is comprehensive and there are specials every day. We were satisfied with our orders and enjoyed the company of friends so not much focus was on the food. Lower expectations and scintillating companionship made it a pleasant evening.

Have been to Taco Rosa for lunch and happy hour many times. The happy hour is a good deal but the food tends to be heavy and fried. The drinks were good but not great. The service at Taco Rosa in Tustin was always good. Unfortunately the service at the Newport location has been horrible twice during happy hours. I... More

We love champagne brunch, particularly buffet, and there don't seem to be many in Newport Beach. Newport Landing is the only one I can think of, and they charge $29 without the champagne. Taco Rosa is off our beaten path - would have to be Superman to get there on a bike, our usual mode of transportation. But we drove,and... More

This restaurant is located in Newport Beach but very close to UC Irvine where I was visiting friends. Their TACO variety is very impressive. We ordered a lobster Taco and a Salmon taco for each of us. They were very good and very light. At $5 per each, rather cheap for a nice lunch option. Service is very good and... More

Stopped in for a rather quick dinner and ate on the patio. Although there white tablecloths on all the tables, the cloths were covered with white butcher paper which really detracted from the dining experience. Service was good and food was better than average. I shared a carnitas burrito with my husband it was plenty. I didn't love the sauce,... More

I was very disappointed with this restaurant. The atmosphere was lovely, and the service outstanding. The appetizers were very good. But when I was served the most expensive dish on the menu, I soon became angry that the shellfish was not fresh, in fact the mussels were horrible and should not have been served. I have not confidence with the... More

Has a good selection of Mexican food at reasonable prices. Service is spotty. They charge for taco chips and salsa, which - in my experience - is not typical.

12 of us went to Taco Rosa in Newport Beach for Easter brunch. The selection of food was outstanding. I recommend trying their pancakes. Wow - they were great, as is everything they offered. Our servers did an outstanding job. I highly recommend Taco Rosa when ever you want great Mexican food

This is a very good Mexican restaurant. Mostly local as it is located in an upscale strip center in a residential area of Newport. menu is quite diverse and many items are more Mexico City type cuisine. No chops and salsa unless you order and pay. They bring you complimentary small plates of unique items with lots od marinated veggies.... More

This hole-in-the-wall location is surprisingly large once you get to the inside. There is a pleasant bar where you can eat and an outside patio with tables as well as numerous inside tables. The food was terrific - the usual fare with a gourmet twist. You won't miss the old favorites as they are all here with healthier ingredients and... More
