My family of four dined at Roy's in Newport Beach last night which was a Sunday. Not impressed, over rated and the food was disappointing. We had the Fish Trio $45 for minuscule amounts of salmon, ahi, and butter fish, it was blah tasting, over priced, and unimpressed with the entire dining experience. I would not recommend this restaurant many... More

Have had dinner and Happy Hour there a few times. I am just not a fan of Asian fusion so unless you are a big fan of that style...you will probably not really like the restaurant. Flemings is located next door is is always by far busier.

The service was very good and everyone very friendly. We have been to Roys many times, but this time the food was mediocre. They no longer serve the complimentary edamame appetizer. We had the Szechuan Calamari and it was very good. However, my Teppanyaki Shrimp was cold and bland. I ordered the carrots instead of rice and it was forgotten,... More

I took my wife to Roy's last night for Valentines Dinner, and did not walk away to happy. To start, I was unaware that there was a set menu. So the choices of what I wanted were limited, and this did not bode well. If I am going to drop a good sum of money, I would of liked to... More

Food and appetizers generally good, but the service is truly horrid . Been there 3 times in the last month. and have learned to order dinner with the drinks. Last night, my birthday, service was the worst yet, had to ask for a new server even though you could have shot a cannon through the place, I'm guessing a max... More

Butterfish is my all time favorite fish. Roy's preparation of butterfish ensures that the buttery fish melts in your mouth as you experience multiple subtle flavors. The sushi rolls are great. Lobster Bisque is fun. Lobster, Thai aromatics with a bit of red curry. Our server was attentive and offered suggestions as we worked through the menu.

With any dinner atmosphere, food and service combined make the experience either positive or negative. Atmosphere - overall the restaurant was nice. We usually go to Roy's in Rancho Mirage and had only been to this location twice before, no major changes in restaurant style. Cocktails - the cocktails were tasty and had a fair amount of alcohol in them... More

We used to come here at least twice a month even signed up for the newsletter because we liked the food so much. Unfortunately after two attempts and disappointments it's off our list. We regularly had sushi and the TRIO plate in the bar and would love their dry martinis and sake. Last time there we sent the Martini back... More

For their First annual Christmas Day dinner, Roy put on such a wonderful menu that we plan to make it our annual event too. The room was filled with other happy diners and it would seem that many like us do not want to have a complicated at-home meal, but prefer to enjoy the food and companionship of friends and... More

We sat in the bar area to watch a football game and get a quick bite to eat before going to the movies. Everything was fantastic!
