Best of the restaurants we tried in Monterey. My wife and I shared the seafood sampler, house salad, and rib eye dinner. We also had a few adult beverages. My wife really enjoyed the seafood sampler. I prefer the calamari to be a little crispier. I didn't try the shrimp, my wife ate both- said they were outstanding! The rib... More

We followed Trip Advisor's recommendation for the best restaurant in Monterey's Fisherman's Wharf. It seemed that others did the same because Old Fisherman's Grotto was the only restaurant on the wharf that was full, all the rest were almost empty. The place was crowded with a good vibe ... people seemed to enjoy their dinner and plates looked promising. The... More

Our hotel recommend us to go for dinner at this restaurants. It was excellent service. The food delicious. We tell them that our hotel send us and they give us a free dessert. We were not expecting that.

We had lunch in a window booth of a gorgeous day in Monterey. That was the highlight of the lunch. Ebullient if a bit frenetic service, which was pretty slow in delivering the food. It would have been irritating if not for the view - but get a window seat! I had a badly overcooked and fry burger (I know,... More

The sign out front tells you all you need to know, it's not a place for young children. That is fine with us, we have a well behaved teenager and I prefer not hearing the yelling and carrying on of toddlers these days. So yes! Ordered a whole crab while the family got chowder, and crab cakes. All of the... More

Had a nice surprise when we tried out a local restaurant on the wharf in Monterey. Not only was the food and ambience great , but the view was the best. Good fresh portions and friendly staff. Server was a little to animated which was the only negative of the whole experience. As a bonus, we got to chat with... More

Hard to choose a single place for a sea food meal when you are surrender by some many good ones. After reading reviews I settle for the fisherman's Grotto. Not disappointing at all. My husband and I were welcoming with a free appetizer, you can select what to get according to the options given by your waiter or waitress. I... More

Amazing meal (cod ling) with double baked potato and beautifully cooked veg. Friendly attentive staff and discounted bubbly. Would thoroughly recommend. Best tiramisu I've ever had - and I'm not a big fan of it usually.
