So I wanted to try this restaurant and what a great experience. I asked if an omelet could be made as a scramble--no problem. Customers were addressed by name and some with hugs. A real community place with great food. Although it's pricey, the quality and quantity of food is completely worth it. I'm going back tomorrow.

I did my research for breakfast joints, and this place always came up among the top, and it surely did not disappoint, the scrambled eggs with salmon was delicious and the velvet pancakes, simply amazing, good organic coffee also available, it is a small place get in there early to avoid the wait.

I'm a total sucker for a good breakfast place and Cafe Buna touches all the bases. Good, friendly service which keeps the inevitable weekend-morning line moving along. The food is delicious -- especially the huevos rancheros with homemade salsa. So good. The menu has a huge number of options. My daughter loved the acai bowl -- tasty and a big... More

Cafe Buna has a large menu to suit all tastes and friendly staff. I had the breakfast sandwich and my husband had a burrito. This is a restaurant we would return to.

The food here is fantastic and the menu is large but the prices are out of control. Must not be a big issue as weekend mornings are packed if you don't go early.

My hubby and I visited here because of all the gluten free options. Everything we ate was AWESOME! It is a smaller cafe, but has extensive menu for everyone. Excellent prices, portion sizes.

After a red eye into LAX, we stopped here to get a good start on the day. Pleasant , speedy service. Food tasty, with generous portions. Not too hard to get a table at 6am.... don't know about later on in the day. Worth the stop!

We are local and we love Cafe Buna. Great selection with something for everyone including gluten-free. Line usually moves quickly but even if not, worth the wait!

What's that saying? Go eat where the locals eat. The locals definitely eat here. The line was out the door. Little bit of a wait but definitely worth it. Café Buna cater for gluten free and the breakfasts were very filling. We did a lot while we were in Venice and this breakfast kept us going past lunch. Poached eggs... More

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
