This restaurant is still shown on the internet. We loved going there in the past. Went there in esrly October with some friends visiting from out of town. It is now closed! Really disappointed.

We have dined at Tlapazola for over 15 years and are heartbroken to see that it is closing. Their food is better than we ever had in Oaxaca, the service was ALWAYS superb and the staff friendly, courteous and efficient. If you can, GO NOW for a treat!

The sign on the wall says that after many years Tlapazola Grill is closing in September. That's such a shame as the restaurant is really good and a nice change from more traditional Tex Mex combos. Outstanding Moles, great fresh seafood. A really nice margarita menu. Chips were a bit stale tho. Very sorry that they're closing down.

Friendly staff and excellent food! Ordered the shrimp and scallop ceviche for starter - had so many scallops only plate. It was amazing. The entrees were equally as delicious, with fantastic portion sizes. Highly recommend - hidden gem! All for reasonable prices.

Nothing fancy. We ordered a lot of food and it was all good. It seemed your standard authentic fare. The salsa was good, the carnitas was good, and hard to say anything negative about the meal. We ordered it to go, and it all traveled well.

Food was decent and service was great. I got a big plate of beans, rice and carnitas that was relatively flavorless prior to the addition of a generous portion of salsa picante.

We have been to this restaurant many times and to it's Gateway location that is now closed. The drinks and entrees are mouth-watering. The ambience is casual and the service is friendly. There are many vegetarian choices on the menu.

We ate a perfect prepared steak and delicious quesadillas. The service was not very kind that's why i only rated 4 stars, but that's the only "negative" thing I have to say.

Small local Mexican restaurant on Venice Blvd. Easy to pass up but don't . They have a small amount of off street parking. Tlapazola is clean and the service prompt, the decor is bright and cheery. The outdoor dining is partially covered and a p,east atmosphere. The menu offers many delicious authentic Mexican dishes. Don't miss out on the home... More

WOW. Great food! Advertised as Mexican, but it is unlike any other Mexican place you have ever been. No tacos! Guacamole is just excellent as are the chips which are thin and not loaded with salt. Chicken flautas are crispy with no oil very attractively served. Appetizers $8-10, Entrees $17-22. I had sand dabs served over spinach with a vegetable... More

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
