The outdoor patio was a treat on a lovely evening. The service was mediocre at best. We had multiple people servicing the table and we asked for a lemon for our water and had to ask multiple times and it was never brought out. I don't expect to be fawned over but if I make a request, I would like... More

service was good, very attentive. Eric Greenspan was there and seemed to overview the kitchen staff and asking patrons if their meals were good. I went there to try the short rib grilled cheese but was very disappointed, didn't appease to my palate, was too sweet instead of savory. the potato soup however was divine, and I would go back... After seeing the Eric Greenspan on next iron Chef competition and reviewing the menu we were very excited to eat there. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to our expectations. We ordered 10 of the 20 possible items on the menu. Almost every dish was either over salted or under seasoned or a complex mixture of different tastes that... More

Went to this restaurant because I had a groupon deal. The lobster salad was incredible! I think it's the best on the menu. My friend ordered the fish which was okay. The band that played was awesome! Also the green tea creme brûlée was incredible!!! Staff was very friendly.

Went for LA Dine week and ordered a variety of dishes. Grilled cheese sandwich is what they are known for but it was too cheesy. The 2 pork belly dishes we ordered were very good and the mussels were good too. That was the only good thing we had a conversation about for the whole dinner. Risotto - too rich.... More

We really wanted to like this place and were excited finally be going...but were underwhelmed. For me (for most people probably), there are always three important aspects to a dining experience - 1. Food, 2. Service; 3. Wine/Drinks. First, the Food: I had the endive salad and what was the "shortbread" was pretty disgusting (possibly burnt?); I had the Potato... More

Have been to The Foundry several times and have had the same thoughts following each visit. The "small plates" and entrees are innovative and well-prepared, attentive waitstaff, speciality drinks are interesting and unique, but the desserts are limited and sadly lacking.

We made a last minute reservation, got seated promptly but right next to the door. The waiter came over after the appetizer and offered us to move to another table (we didn't even mention our dislike). - So that was really nice and appreciated. We ordered the 5 course - tasting menu with the wine flight. - Every dish was... More

I've been here twice and both times were delightful! The last time I went, we ordered the shrimp toast (my personal fave), pork belly scallion pancakes, mustard spaetzle, chicken and peach terrine and finally the branzino. We wanted to order dessert but we were way too stuffed to have any dessert. Everything was perfectly delicious! We loved everything but in... More

The Foundry on Melrose offers a terrific dining experience - a very special place with everything going for it. The Chef Owner, Eric Greenspan, is VERY present and extended a warm greeting to us and everyone else in his restaurant. Here's a bit about him to give you an idea of his background and what you can expect: Eric Greenspan,... More
