My daughter and I visited California for our 50th and 22nd birthdays, respectively. We had dinner here with our friends to celebrate. The atmosphere was old Hollywood. We were seared at Chaplin's old dining booth. We received a little historical tour of the place from Bobby (apparently the manager). Emanuel was our waiter. Very attentive service. Enjoyed a couple of... More

We expected a big crowd on St. Patrick's Day, late afternoon but the place was empty and quiet. Nice, actually because six family members can get loud. Waiters were attentive and understanding. Food was great - we ordered a variety of breakfast and lunch dishes. Ate all of it - I especially liked the pastrami sandwich.

We truly enjoyed our visit this evening. I'll start by saying you'll feel the history in the walls if you pay attention. Great table side service was provided by Jonathan, who was patient and took the time to explain the dishes we planned to order. We started with the house salad. The dressing was amazing. My husband had the strip... More

It was a classic place to visit for first timers in LA. We had the avocado salad which was your basic salad, nothing inventive. We also had the linguine and clams which were delicious. It was a generous portion of pasta and clams. Finally we shared a bottle of Decoy wine. The place was lively and preserves a nostalgic feeling... More

Five work friends visited for a dinner following a conference nearby. The wine was excellent. The side dishes were also excellent and generous. The entrees were hit or miss for us. The sand dabs and the calf's liver were OK. The veal was a hit. The booth was a bit tight for the five of us. The fine service balanced... More

We stopped here at a recommendation of a friend. This is an old school steak house right in the middle of Hollywood. The ribeye was excellent as was the French onion soup. The have daily specials, a variety of steaks, Italian dishes and salads. Most of the dishes are served aka carte. The cobbler and creme brûlée were also tasty!... More

As an out of town visitor, I was concerned that this would be a tourist spot since it is walking distance to the wax museums, souvenir shops and theater. But thankfully, this is a genuine and classy spot. Great ribeye. Solid service. Comfortable booths and old school atmosphere. A definite winner.

My wife & I ate at M&FG recently while in town due to it's high ratings on TripAdvisor and celebrity history. We loved the old throwback decor, bar and staff's attire. We were seated at a booth, ordered 2 glasses of wine, split a lettuce wedge w/ blue cheese and some bread. Off to a good & delicious start. For... More

The food was wonderful. their corkage fee is outrageous, seriously 25.00 to open a bottle of wine. Everything is pretty much ala carte. Dont bother getting a cup of soup you will be shocked at the size it seriously looks like a tea cup order the bowl. The setting is so pretty inside.

We had a great late afternoon meal at Musso and Frank's. Such great history here and the food was really good. Historic building, you can really imagine you're sitting at a restaurant 60+ years ago. Worth a visit, for sure! The food was very good and the drinks were amazing.

Staying in Hollywood

Neighbourhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
