My first experience was to have a coffee which was excellent with very helpful staff. I then noticed that they served breakfast so decided to return the next day. This was excellent and I ate this outside on a covered decking area looking out onto Santa Monica Boulevard. What a great breakfast. Great food and excellent value

We had the sweetest waiter and he really did go out of his way to make us feel satisfied and welcome. The food is good but the service is what makes this place excellent.

First night in LA, the reviews looked good, and it was recommended to us, so we gave it a try. My salad was disappointing, with under cooked chicken served the first time. To the staff's credit they were very apologetic and re-grilled the chicken until cooked and replaced the salad. My partners dish was cooked, but he didn't enjoy it... More

I've been eating at Basix for 10 years as one of my regular "go to" places. Great bartender, and table service is always good and friendly. Food is consistently good and there are always fun specials. We always bring out of town guests. Primarily gay clientele, this is a great place for sitting on the porch and watching the "parade"... We ducked in for b'fast and were met with fantastic service, delicious and healthy food and great coffee. We are staying near by and despite not being locals (our Aussie accents and confusion of the menu was out downfall!) , we were treated like family. Lovely spot in an equally lovely neighbourhood. 😃

A long overdue review of what might just be my favorite neighborhood restaurant in Southern California. My Husband (then my partner) discovered Basix on our trips from Philadelphia to visit my family in Hermosa Beach. Of course we spent our evenings driving into WeHo for dinner and drinks. We discovered Basix by simply driving by. No word of mouth, no... More

This place is at best adequate. It's on a noisy corner and the food is average with above average prices.

Came here for an impromptu dinner whilst visiting weho. Service and food was excellent. We had the parmesan chicken and the spaghetti and meatballs. Both were delicious. Service was fantastic. Free WiFi at the restaurant. You jut have to ask for the password. Would highly recommend.

Basic is out go-to for a casual dinner out in West Hollywood. Warm, friendly service, great staff, very good new American cuisine and interesting specials.

Staying in West Hollywood

Neighbourhood Profile
West Hollywood
For years, West Hollywood has been known as a hub for the LGBT communities in Los Angeles. Today it still maintains the title, but has also become the “it” neighborhood for the entertainment industry’s up-and-comers. Producers, directors, writers and aspiring actors call this area home. Known for great boutique shopping, vintage clothing stores, home décor shops and fitness studios, West Hollywood is a grid of wide boulevards and narrow residential streets. The neighborhood also has a concentration of the most avant-garde restaurants in Los Angeles (rivaled only by the burgeoning restaurant scene Downtown). A trip to the iconic Sunset Strip, with its many clubs, music venues, hotels and flashing lights won’t be forgotten.
