This place fascinated me. I walked past it all weekend en route to an event at the nearby Convention Center and in those days its legend grew. A staple in downtown L.A. since 1924, this place had a line out the door every morning at breakfast time. Someone told me ol' Walt Disney liked to dine there. The locals love... More

This All American Diner has been serving up Los Angeles patrons huge portions whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Features both table and counter seating. Recommend the Roast beef dinner, Spaghetti with Meatballs and Denver Omelette. Breakfast served all day as well. Open 24 hours per day. Free 2 hour parking with validation across the street.

Always a line. - we usually just sit at the counter. A lot of food for a good price. The wait staff has been there for many, many years, and lives to greet the regulars, so coffee wasn't always full, but a treat to watch the show. Bring cash, because they don't take credit cards. And they validate parking for... More

This restaurant is a few blocks from LA Live, and is an iconic landmark that has been at the same place for many decades. There is always a line to get in, but the wait is definitely worth it! The food is fabulous! The portions are large, the price is reasonable, and the pancakes are the best ever. The lively... More

Restaurant has never closed since 1924. Waited in a 10 minute line but was worth the wait. Being a single diner I chose to sit at the counter. Short, concise menu. 2 Eggs, homefries and 2 large pieces of sourdough bread was a great choice. Be aware - no credit, cash only.

Very nostalgic setting. Service was very quick and the food was great. Walked from the hotel and it was an easy 5-6 blocks.

Great spot for breakfast! Get there early to avoid the line out the door and around the block!! I ordered the #3 and as you can see from the picture, it was enough for breakfast, lunch AND dinner!!

Roast beef, steaks, chops chicken. Everything is great served by terrific staff in a genuine old time atmosphere. A real treat . Prices have gone up since my last visit admittedly quite... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
