I had heard all about this LA institution from watching Man vs Food and could not wait to try the signature roast beef roll dipped in the au jus. Did it live up to expectation? absolutely. It's not gourmet and it's not much to look...More

Parking impossible!!! Inside chaos!!! The French Dip perfect!!! Consider a carpool or taking an Uber. When you get inside, pick any line and just stay there. I felt the need to try some of the other menu items, but stick with the French Dip and...More

Known for French-dip sandwiches, salads, and cheap coffee. The sandwiches are mediocre and over-priced, with the only excellent thing about them being the hot mustard you can put on the sandwich on the table. The salads are good, however, but not great. The totally casual...More

I have enjoyed many a French Dip at Philippe's and can't wait to taste my next! Don't expect fancy. You will stand in line, smelling the food and anxiously awaiting your turn at the bar. Your server will take your order, cut the meat, prepare...More

Love this place. Always get your beef double dipped. The juice rocks the bread. Sit in last room in a booth and be sure to look at all the photos of Times gone bye. Macaroni salad is great as is coleslaw. Too off with chocolate/vanilla...More

Order at counter; famous for beef dip but you should try lamb sandwich. Very noisy and crowded, diverse patrons, communal tables. An LA landmark but you go for the experience more than the food.

Yes. Most servings can feed one person, but kids can split servings, especially if they're younger. All meals affordable.

This is not really a place where you would go for "healthy choices". It's a" sawdust on the floor" kind of place.
