One of the best Japanese cuisine in LA. And not stuck up at all. If you like Japanese you need to go! And they have great sushi. Anyone who knows Japanese food will appreciate the distinction.

What a great culinary experience. The staff were friendly, food was very exotic & respectful. My first time there. Suggest omakasi you can choose different plates.

This sushi was beyond my expectations, extremely fresh and melts in your mouth. Wild mix creative flavors that blend beautifully. This place is a feast for sushi lovers. Be prepared to pay a lot, but if you're a sushi snob this is worth the price. It also has valet parking which is worth it since there is very limited street... More

The paragon of sushi experiences. The bar has been raised by their presence, every bite a fine crafted artistic experience and a sublime coalescence of taste. I've been eating sushi and for over 30 years, I was totally impressed by everything including the great level of service. Here is a picture of a more simple thing I ordered, but done... More

Asanebo is a small restaurant located in a strip mall (no less) in Studio City, California. I titled the review "Way Way Up," suggesting the emotional experience resulting if you visit this remarkable establishment. We order a cooked fish, (the portion is moderate), and the flavors are sublime. "Wait!" we ask the ever attentive waitress don't take the plate there... More

We come here once every couple of months. The food is simply outstanding. Highest quality fish and beautiful preparations. Atmosphere is perhaps not top notch, but as good as or better than most other sushi restaurants. You will be focused on the food anyway!

Despite the unassuming location, the food is of superior standard. Every dish in the pageant of flavour was stunning.

It's was good. If you have not been you may need to stop by. Friendly atmosphere. Parking is a little cramp, but they have valet parking. Try new things is what I say.

I have never seen my wife re-order a dish, but being of Italian (Sicilian) origin, she knows eggplant. The dish she reordered is called Nasu Waygu - eggplant in Japanese Waygu Beef Miso Sauce - it was outstanding! The Yellowtail Special in black lava salt and spicy citrus soy sauce was my favorite - delightfully fresh and just perfect. Come... More
