Make a morning of it -- good food, people watching, walking on the boardwalk in Venice. On my 4-5 annual trips to LA I ALWAYS go to Figtrees for breakfast/brunch with friends - the food is delicious, scones a special treat and excellent coffee. We watch interesting folks walk or roller blade by and enjoy the ocean air and view... More

Great place on Venice Boardwalk to seat and have a bite or drink and watch the entertaining pedestrian traffic pass by. The food is ok and the service is passable. The hostess sitting on her stool at the front had her head buried in her cell phone oblivious to the patrons waiting to be seated on may occasions. The man... More

Good food, creative combinations. Price is okay, service a bit slow, but hey, it's the beach, comes with the vibe

We had a tasty lunch here but found it expensive for what we had and debated the quality of some of it. The walk to and from the restrooms highlights the dire need for refurbishment though.

We are here twice when we stayed and both times the breakfast was excellent. Well worth a try. Also happy hour between 8-9 for breakfasts is great value.

Rated well above most places on the Beach. We expected it to be busy, but there is a limit!! French Toast and sausage took 40 minutes, and was COLD when it finally did arrive. No real sense of customer service other than the bus boys.

I ate dinner there twice while staying on vacation nearby. The outdoor seating faces the beach. The meals are big and tasty as are the signature cocktails. Service is friendly. I regret to give this a 4 and not a 5 because the bathroom needs to be cleaner.

Had a delicious breakfast here and was pleasantly surprised that it was half price. Service was good although they were very busy we didn't have to wait long.

Thank Megan M

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
