This place is semi-famous as it was used as a BAckdrop in the movie "I Love You, Man". We had some great wine and a simple/delicious tuna appetizer. The ambience is laid back, and there's a lovely indoor/outdoor patio that's perfect on a sunny day. The indoor restaurant is a bit more upscale (white tablecloths, etc.) but seems similarly laid... They only had a very poor buffet. Very small choice and mediocre quality at a relatively high cost. Very unhappy having been here before and thought highly of their menu foods.

We booked a table for lunch on Sunday, just to arrive there and being told it was buffet menu only at $40+ per person. No mention of it when we booked, nor on their website. No a la carte food available on Mother's Day! Very poor customer service, therefore we won't give it another try. Other restaurants in the area... More

Slightly tucked down a connecting street. Very popular with locals & LA trendies. Good menu (especially if you like cocktails). Good priced menu too. Good service and excellent food. Will return.

I love it. Second time in town, second time in Jame's Beach. Good menu and awesome beach atmosphere. If you're vegetarian, there's a delicious falafel burguer. Try it ;)

Stopped while in Venice on a 3 night trip. Had burger and fries. Was alright. Nice atmosphere and nice to get away from Spring Breakers on Ocean Front Walk

Warmly greeted by Joe the bartender. Loved the lights, board shorts and garden decorating the open roof patio which can be closed if the sun is too bright. Friendly, laid back, casual place with great tasting burgers salads and fries, 90's style rock music with some 70's. Joe and JB were fun and friendly. The man serving the patio working... More

This is an open air type of scene very close to Venice Beach, featured in several movies. Colorful, great food and cocktails !

This is an iconic restaurant, worth visiting when in the Venice Beach area. James (the owner) is very present and charming. The wait staff reflects their owner and are genuinely energetic, friendly and responsive. We sat in the 'open air' section, which was really nice. The average rating for this review is only because the food itself seemed 'average' to... More

Best place in Venice Beach. Really great service; look for Don at bar. Amazing vibe and cool relaxing atmosphere. Very sheik.

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
