We went there before going to see a musical. Loved the atmosphere place was lively even on a Tuesday night! Decor was great, chalkboard all around, open kitchen. Great prompt service with an effective waitress named Jackie when we told her we had 30 minutes top. I had a small plate of charred cauliflower with raisins aioli pistachios and eggplant... More

There were no tables available inside when we arrived for lunch and it was a cool day after morning rain but rather than leave or wait, we ate outside after a table and chairs were wiped down for us. Good move because we had such amazing sandwiches. The Billionaire's Club has very tender poached free range chicken, perfectly ripe avocado,... More

This is a good spot for lunch or dinner/drinks in downtown LA. The food is American with interesting twists (Salmon with lentil and carrots; short ribs with green chili mole, to name two). The salads, sandwiches and main courses were all good. Beer, wine and cocktails are available.

Was in LA for a business trip, staying at Omni Hotel. Came here for mid-afternoon meal and loved it! Service was top notch (thank you, Daniel!), and the food was fab. Started with side salad and then had Chicken and Egg Rice Bowl. It was delicious. Beer selection rocks too. If you are nearby, totally worth the trip!

The outside patio is unique, with some soft couches and no walls so you can get full views of the downtown buildings and you can do some serious people watching.

Went here after a conference for dinner. Peers had steak, but I tried the fish. Oops. Feel like I paid a lot and I didn't like the experience. Dont have the salmon, have the steak.

Who knew? A country style restaurant in downtown L.A. Wonderful local ranch photos on the walls inside. The restaurant had a comfy outdoor area for our group of 12. We experienced great service as we enjoyed wonderful happy hour foods, including Austin Fish Tacos, Pink Eggs & Ham and ahi poke. All spicy and tasty. We enjoyed sangria and great... More

Had the Bleu cow burger. Not usually a fan of bleu cheese but the waitress recommended that and the ribs. She was right, the hamburger was great. Loved their French fries. They were the size of steak fries but were nice and crisp. It cost around $15 + tax. A bit expensive for a hamburger, but good price for dinner... More

You have to get the brussels sprouts. Best. Ever. I had the salmon and it was fantastic too. Great service on top of the great food. Thanks.

Last night was my 5th visit to Blue Cow Kitchen & Bar, located in the lower plaza level of the Two California Plaza on Grand Ave. in Downtown L.A. Every time my wife and I visit, we are more impressed than the last. The service is always spot on; friendly, efficient and accommodating. We usually sit in the patio, and... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
