Lovely location on the plaza between Mark Taper Forum and Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Had pre-theatre drinks and dinner, all of which was great. We got there early enough to get a table without waiting. Later it was quite crowded. Bar has a separate menu. A little pricey but quite good - grilled chicken entree, charcuterie plate, salads, cheese and fruit... More

The convenience of the location (in the middle of Music Center Plaza) and immediate proximity to the Dorthy Chandler Pavilion, Mark Taper Forum, and Ahmanson Theater will cost you: small plastic cups of wine ($13) and a plastic covered tray of prepared cold crudités ($12). But if you need a bite and a sip before your show, the simple menu... More

We've often gone here before any of the shows we'll be seeing in the Music Center. The patio seating is wonderful and the atmosphere around you with the lovely buildings makes it extra special. The wait staff is always very attentive, they're never hovering. I've had their amazing burger a few times, it's always a hit. This last visit I... More

My last visit here a year or two ago was a disaster. The food here is a little better than OK. The ambiance is pretty nice though, with the fountain and the impressive plaza and cultural buildings as a very nice accompaniment. Our server was terrific and so was the attention to our table from other staff.

My husband I have eaten at Pinto Grill before theater numerous times over the last 15 years and have always enjoyed our experience; however, that all changed last night. we arrived at 6:45 and were told that we probably couldn't get a table because they have reduced the number of tables and that we should consider eating elsewhere such as... I've dined at Pinot Grill at least 10 times, usually pre-concert/ pre-opera/ pre-show. The setting is pleasant. Service can be spotty, we always tell our server when we sit down why we are there and the time of the curtain - we have never had a problem. Lines can be long so make sure you plan enough time. The food... More

The bartenders here know how to make a great martini and Bloody Mary! Never tried the food, but would like to some time. Great pre-concert stop.

Whether you are going to a concert, theater or in the neighborhood. This is a delightful outdoor restaurant on the more upscale type with cloth covered tables and cloth napkins. There is also a bar area if you need to wait for friends or even have a meal. This restaurant is between the Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Mark... More

Hey - they even have water now - for years your only option was bottled water as they said they were not hooked up to to a real utility line. They usually have some fun themed drinks based on the show playing. We like the cheese plate and seasonal ravioli for a light pre-show snack.

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
