The wide open space. The bakery in the front. The open fire pizza oven. The marble floors. Me and the hubby love Bottega Louie, We have had pizza, salad, breakfast, pasta and dessert there and all were amazing. Have not had anything that wasn't scrumptious yet. Everything taste fresh and authentic to the style of food. The only thing now... More

We found Bottega Louie through a recommendation on tripadvisor in the first place so in turn I'm reviewing. I went to this restaurant with my family, 4 of us. One of my girls had the pizza the other a cobb salad, my husband the pork chop and I had the Calabrian chicken. Mine was the least appealing but still ok.... More

Good spot downtown for a very good spin on modern Italian cooking. You never know who you'll see here, but who cares...I go for the food. Can be very difficult to get a table so plan accordingly. The service was excellent, the food was very good. No complaints.

I get it, it's in downtown LA, it's trendy... But it was pretty expensive. I had the salmon eggs Benedict and it was good. The desserts were just ok. I've had better ones. Would I go back? Eh..maybe.

Visited this restaurant while staying at a hotel nearby. Obviously very popular but extremely noisy (high ceilings, no wall decoration, and no carpeting to muffle the noise). It sounds like a large cafeteria when you first walk in and it's difficult to have conversation with anyone who isn't less than a foot or two from your ear. Service was excellent.... More

We were absolutely amazed at how good the service is here. They treat you like a VIP which makes the entire experience quite special. That and the food is great. Will definitely come here again and again.

I cannot stop thinking about the amazing meal that we enjoyed here. We loved everything about the place. The decor was white and sleek, the service was good, and the food was beyond our expectations. Lots of different menu items to choose from, and with our table of 5, we tried several. First we had bread offered with real butter,... More

Friends had been there prior, this was my first visit. It looked like a great place, but was very difficult to converse over the noise. Felt duped when I ordered a glass of wine for $8 and then found I paid double (1/2 serving vs full). This was a first for me...guess I better read the small print. My dinner... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
