Thoroughly recommend this place if you are in downtown LA. It's an easy walk from the OUE Bank Skyspace and slide (an open air viewing platform over the city with a see through glass slide on the outside of the building going down one floor - a must do). Bright and airy, quite European in menu and general feel. Wide... More

This is a huge restaurant in the middle of down town with the most amazing desserts. You're spoiled for choice with the macaroons: lemon, strawberry, chocolate, orange, coffee and then variations therein! The possibilities are infinite. The place is pretty expensive but overall the vibe is fabulous :)

There honestly is not a bad item on the menu, no matter what you order at this establishment you will be pleased with. They have a bar area where you can enjoy alcohol or coffee. They have a bakery are where you can get baked goods to go. There is even an area where they have prepackaged salads you can... More

The Bottega Louie pastry counter is a MUST see when in downtown LA. It is separate, but located inside, the restaurant. They have gorgeous pastries, cakes, handmade candy, macarons, sandwiches and salads. Stop by even if only to admire the beautiful handmade sweets. There is an area with little tables and chairs so you can enjoy your dessert and coffee.... More

It's a good thing I didn't find this place until late in my stay in LA, otherwise i would have been here daily. It's pricey! But serving sizes were great (at least for what I had). Service was impeccable. The dining room is beautiful. A colleague had complained about how it's hard for him to hear his fellow diners when... More

I was staying at the Doubletree Downtown Los Angeles and inquired about an excellent restaurant for dinner. The staff at the hotel sent us here. Wow! About a 20 minute walk but the food was the best Italian I have had in ages. I had the Macaroni with Bacon starter and then the Terrangi Bolognese entree. The home made and... More

This is a trendy place. Very busy at all hours of the day. Service is very good. We were served by Tomás. A very nice, courteous, friendly young man. He was very attentive and made sure all was well with us. Went on a business lunch and found the place a bit to loud for this type of meeting. Great... More

My girlfriend and I loved the pizza and deserts here. It can get a bit busy at times, however the restaurant manages to maintain good quality food and service.

The past several tomes we have been in downtown LA, we noticed this place is always hopping so we decide to stop in. crowd is justified. The cocktails, small plates and entrees we had were all excellent. The prices were very reasonable. The waiter recommended an entree called Trenne. He warned us when it comes out, it looks like the... More

This is a solid restaurant but nothing special. The pizza was good with a nice thin crust but nothing memorable. They do let you mix pizza toppings which is nice. The fried mushrooms really weren't worth the hype on other reviews. I wouldn't bother ordering them. The macaroons were delicious.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
