I enjoyed my meal at this restaurant. The staff was very friendly. I had Texas beef brisket. It was extremely tender but several pieces had a lot of fat. I also tried the beans and they were delicious. A fun place and worthy of a stop.

Came here with a friend that wanted to try the place. Hmmm a little hole in the wall place, WOW this place is worth the visit. They only have a couple of tables and it's usually standing room only. Order, pick up and take it home or to the park. On Sundays you can barely get in the door. The... More

In had the beef brisket and a taste of the rib tips. The beef brisket was moist and had a good barbecue flavor. I don't usually use sauce, but tried the regular and it enhanced the flavor. Could have used more vegetables...the collard greens were very good, but I get it...one comes here for the meat and lots of it.... More

It is great BBQ! The parking lot can be full, but, if you like great BBQ look no further. The place is not fancy, but you have come for the food. You can get the food to take out.

Located in Lemon Grove, Coop's may be a bit out of the way for many San Diegans, but it is a destination well rewarded for a diner's efforts. Located at the front of a small strip mall, Coop's West Texas BBQ and The Chicken Coop, Cooper's new addition serving chicken, sit on opposite sides of the mall entrance. Brightly painted... More

I have had lunch here several times and it's always excellent. Not crazy about the new chicken they serve across the way BUT the original BBQ is outstanding. Today I tried the Spud-B-Que, a very large baked potato stuffed with Beef brisket, cheese, butter and sour cream. It was delicious and too much to finish. About $11.00 for lunch including... More

We are from Texas so expectations were high when we heard about coops. Sweet tea, homemade cornbread, and sides. Sauce was great with different options and healthy portions. Brisket was a little dry but besides that ribs, portions, and service on point! Just look for the smoke and the smell of deliciousness.

Family that lives in San Diego recommended we try it and we were not disappointed. Had a couple of the baked potatoes stuffed with pulled pork and they were awesome. Had the potato salad, macaroni, and baked beans...all were great! Every time we stop in SD we will be eating here.
