We had dinner at Brockton Villa and sat on the Balcony overlooking the Ocean. The views were gorgeous. Service was friendly, prompt and efficient and the food was great, especially the Lobster Roll. If we were to re-visit La Jolla, we would definitely go back again.

This little historic restaurant overlooks the rocky coast of the ocean, with easy seal sightings, long-distance swimmers going across bay and more. The service was personal and quality. My girlfriend and I had brunch and were delighted with the excellence of the food. So good, we were sharing. We were able to get on the narrow outside row of tables.... More

Had a wonderful breakfast on a sunny Saturday. Chose to sit outside because the sun was out, even tho it was a little chilly. The views are to die for. Watched surfers, swimmers, joggers, bicyclists- you get the picture. The heaters were on but not really necessary. I ordered the fabulous house made corned beef hash. The corned beef was very... Warning, if you want any drink with liquor, don't bother with this restaurant. We had a board of director dinner, for our national association, at this restaurant--14 people from all over the US. When we ordered drinks, we were informed that they had no liquor license (no restaurant personnel mentioned this when reservations were made). They serve beer, wine and... More

Brioche bread soaked in cream (with a hint of orange liquor?), baked and then lightly fried to create a crispy crust and a soft custardy interior that melts in your mouth. Heavenly! Other dishes equally strong. Probably explains why they sell so much. Cozy interior with a seaside theme. Perhaps a bit cramped. Great service with personable staff. Only strong... More

We have been to Brockton Villa many times, but it was probably a decade since our most recent visit. The reason is that parking around the restaurant, which is in La Jolla on the cove, is ridiculous. This time we were pretty early in the day, before 11 AM, and found a parking spot. After strolling up and down the... More

We were much enjoyed our meals, ambiance and service at this seaside location. Our guests were from Asia and we're impressed with this choice for dinner. We had no problems with anything. I want to go back in the daylight to have lunch as the view will be fantastic!

A casual restaurant with lots of history. The patio provides great ocean views. The dining room opens up to a balcony for even more seating options. Service is fantastic... attentive and timely. With all that going for it, the food excellent, adventurous and feeds a small army. The only thing they work in cleaning up is their bathrooms... yuck!

The location is great and probably what makes it so popular. We were seated at 11:40 and told we could order lunch (starting at 12pm on weekend), but that our order wouldn't go in until 12pm and then food would be delivered 15 min later. Seeing as we had two hungry toddlers with us, we opted to stick with brunch... More

Nice views and great ambiance. People were very kind. I had the fishtaco which were fine but not the best (the fish was actually a bit dry). I did not make reservations, but could have lunch there after a ten minute wait.
