This is a "must" ... we had a breakfast on Sunday morning at 8am...we did not book and were seated immediately. We noticed that after 8 diners are queuing down the street for a table. Delicious food, excellent service. Beautiful location.

Fresh food with a light and airy atmosphere. Great staff especially the kitchen staff. We visit for birthdays or just a casual morning brunch. It's kind of small so don't expect to bring a lot of people in your party. I recommend The Cottage for...More

Although you may find posts stating that The Cottage is pet friendly, it is NOT. If you bring a (non-service) dog then the most you can hope for is to be seated at the fence, with your dog on the other side of the fence,...More

I ordered the Mexicali Benedict. I am not a fan of eggs Benedict but I am vegetarian and loved the option of ordering soy chorizo so I went for it and it was AMAZING! I also tried the French toast that looked unbelievable and it...More

The food is delicious and the scones are the best part of the meal! I used to love the chilaquiles they had but they are gone now! I really like the egg sandwich with gruyere cheese! And the coffee is the best! I really recommend...More

The food is great and the wait is long. However, It is worth it. They do have coffee and muffins or sweet breads for those who wait.

Sorry, can't answer that question. Just call the restaurant and ask what hours they'll maintain on Christmas day. GOOD luck.

7:40-3:00. Use the app NoWait to put your name of the waiting list. This will prevent you from waiting so long to be seated.

Description
Over 24 years ago, we stumbled onto a sleepy little restaurant called the Cottage La Jolla. The restaurant was a local hangout and had a reputation for delicious food and friendly, personal service. Since 1992, our business has exploded, and in late 2009 we finished a complete renovation of the restaurant. Improvements include a handicap lift & restrooms, expanded kitchen & a fresh, new look. What hasn't changed is our passion for serving tasty, classic American & Southern California influenced food. We are also proud of the many servers, bussers and cooks that have been with us for years & years. We are often asked how we are able to operate two restaurants on different coasts, and our response is, "It's all about the people." Please take a moment to say hello to our Manager, Michael Harrison, on your next visit. Welcome to the Cottage!
